Re: Seats

Thanks 912UK, those look great but at somewhere over $3,000 for a pair I think they might be a bit pricey for me. I think the Rennsport Classics I like work out at £1600 a pair all in, with Cobras probably half that. I was keen to understand the difference in quality of seats on the market, for that...

Re: Seats

Thanks Timo. Did you get fixing kits from Cobra as well? Did they have the option for a tilting kit so small people could get in the back? Whilst I like the look of the Recaro sports seats I think they look somehow a bit much in an early 912.

Seats

I'm planning to refurbish the interior of my 1966 912. My existing seats require a re-build - I think they are later seats, i.e. late 1960s, rather than 66 seats. I might want to replace them with buckets, partly for the look but also for weight reduction. There appear to be a number of suppliers of...

Re: Interior sound deadening

I had assumed you could use a sound deadening material and then carpet directly on top - I wasn't expecting to use felt. Why the use of felt as well? Is it used to provide some padding?

Re: Interior sound deadening

Thanks guys, that is most useful. Unfortunately Danny I don't expect I'll be at Stanford Hall with the car - she is currently having some bodywork sorted before being resprayed. It's a hospital job with a friend of mine so I can't be sure when the work might complete! It gives me time to work out ho...

Interior sound deadening

My '66 car requires new carpets but currently has no sound deadening. What difference will sound deadening make? Mine is a standard car, so I think noise reduction would be useful. Which material would be recommended and how best is it installed? Thanks.

Re: Gearbox Rebuild

Many thanks guys, most helpful. In the end I have gone with Mike. For some reason I didn't of Max at Revival for the gearbox work, even though at some point I plan to take my car to him for a once over.

Cheers

Gearbox Rebuild

The five speed gearbox from my 1966 912 needs a re-build and I'm after recommendations, please, as to who to go to. I live in South Oxfordshire but I guess I can readily have the box couriered anywhere. A search on here suggested Mike Bainbridge is popular and well thought of. Who else might I consi...
