The Classic Motor Hub

Hi

I see there is a Cars and Coffee event at The Classic Motor Hub at Bibury in the Cotwolds

It is a Porsche only one, free to book on their website - Sunday 17th June - might even be sunny !!

Anyway thought it needed sharing !

Re: Thinking about values of steering wheels

This is all great information and confirms my hunch that it would be worth a bit

I just need to find someone doing a refurb in the UK who does not want to pay the extortionate taxes from the States !!

Have a great weekend

Re: Thinking about values of steering wheels

Mine is not is restored / new condition but the same as the following

356A wheel £1740

full horn ring £209

recessed horn button £190

So that is pretty much the same but in used condition !! I do not think mine is worth that level but certainly food for though !!

Thinking about values of steering wheels

Hello I am thinking about the value of an original steering wheel from my 356 - it have a horn ring and horn button in the middle. It is in average used condition but working and would be good to bolt straight in or perfect for a restoration. I am wondering what these go for and is there a scale of ...

Re: Rear brake problems

Hi Roy I think I should have tightened as much as possible by hand and then just used it to torque up - I think I used it too early. I am glad to have got my hands dirty and now know all about the workings and what issues I have to rectify. However on the weekend I took it to Goodwood and when decel...

Re: Rear brake problems

So I had finally got all the brakes back together and borrowed my mates high torque gadget to tighten up the nuts - however one of the nuts kept turning and it then became evident that the thread had stripped and the drive shaft would need to be replaced ............ So I managed to find a well pric...

Re: So .. Sales of new petrol and diesel powered cars banned

I suspect that it will be a rerun of when the horse was phased out and cars took over - we still have horses but only for leisure activities. Although it might be easier to find horse food than fuel ! Was there not a news story on something being teleported into the space station - this might of cou...

Re: Rear brake problems

Hi sorry for the long time to get back !! I have finally got the drum onto that rear brake - woop woop ! It turns out that someone has added some weld to the back of the solid bar that goes across the top with the large spring - this was not allowing the new shoes to come together enough for the dru...

Re: Is this the correct tool for removing my axle nut?

Hi Neil The tool on ebay is for the large nut on the flywheel - you are looking to undo the axle nut - so I do not think that will be suitable ??? Usually a large breaker bar with a suitable 4 foot long tube on the end will be needed to release the axle nut As we know there are more eloquent people ...
