Re: Assessing an unknown engine
I put a 19mm socket on the crank on Sunday and tried to turn the engine, but I found myself tightening and loosening the pulley bolt instead. Buying an unknown item in an auction, there's always a chance you're paying to take somebody else's problem away. So it was with some trepidation I ventured i...

Re: USA 1970 911T - the Tangerine Dream
After several days' fettling, I was finally satisfied with the fit of the sill. Flush with the door and about 3.5 mm gap along its length. It was a bit fiddly at the front end but I managed to do it with the door on. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240324/a14ed51436018ce8f60bde752107ed38.jpg I sp...

Re: The DDK Nationals
Hello, anyone got a scrap battery box ? I’m looking for the bracket on the side if possible? Preferably the passenger side of a RHD CAR. The bracket which holds the L shaped bumper bracket. Will obviously pay for it. Porsche doesn’t make the bracket anymore. Thanks WhatsApp 07446987571 Or leedurran...

Re: Assessing an unknown engine
I am led to believe the protocol for the broken mounting stud is to tig fill with AZ92A magnesium filler, bake out welding stresses at circa 200 Celcius for an hour or so, machine flush and redrill and tap the hole. Assuming nobody has information conflicting with that, does anybody have any suggest...

Cut some brass to size, laser print your design onto some heat transfer paper (in reverse) then run it through a laminator. Then clear coat. Just a suggestion.

Engine bar and bracket wanted
Not a desperate need at all but I acquired a spare 1970 engine and it came without the rear crossmember and the four bolt bracket which holds that to the back of the engine below the fan pulley. It'd be handy to have one on the engine rather than to swap it, if anyone has something they don't want/n...

Re: Replacing 911 sills and Jacking Points
I'm following this as I may need to re-visit my sills. I fitted Dansk parts to my 73T in '89 and the fit was awful and took ages to get them close enough to the equally poor Dansk door skins fitted at the same time! Double trouble at the time. Maybe they are all better today. Have you fitted the ja...
