Re: Various 911 Parts

I will take the 1968 dated rear belts if they are still going. Not sure which set of belts that Stuart above is refering to.

Re: BIB5566

Good grief! Well done on fighting and winning, bitch of a task, BUT, all done now, lots more fun to come. The Dempsey rod and chan supports are very flimsy unless made of some spring steel, I got frustrated with mine too. When you get to installing rings, invest in one of the machined taper compres...

Re: BIB5566

Hello again all. Yes the above is the pulled stud. The amount of free thread is indeed indicative of the pull. TBH I did think, how important is this stud in actuality, theres lots of other studs in the vicinity... it would probably run fine as it is... but conscience gets the better, plus the fix s...

Re: Harry's Garage, Lancia Fulvia Zagato 1600 video

chucking 100k at this is ridiculous, I like his videos but he lives in another world a lot of the time, totally out of touch with reality. You can tell he pays for everything to get done on all his cars and does nothing himself, sometimes he asks people really stupid questions about how stuff works ...

Re: BIB5566

OK so ive been plodding along. Went to see Mike Bainbridge to pick up a sprocket flange from him, what a legend he is, I wish I had his job playing with fancy engines and gearboxes all day! He very kindly modified oil sprays into my conrods and gave me lots of time and advice about putting the case ...

Re: Oil Line Fitting Removal

I don't quite understand what you are trying to do. The rubber hose is crimped very tightly to the inner sleeve, the sleeve is machined with barbs to stop the rubber coming off under pressure, sure all mine are steel (1973T). The nut freely rotates on the sleeve, so assembly is nut over the sleeve,...

Re: BIB5566

Does this help?? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/404774-2-4s-mated-901-trans.html If anything it makes me more confident, Grady discusses the pros and cons of both clutch options i.e. they are both doable. Nowhere does it say that using the 2.0 clutch/fly is not possible,...

Re: BIB5566

I was wondering about the crank/flywheel interface. I believe the 2.4 crank doesn't fit the 2.0/901 flywheel. Did Mike sort some interface for you there? Hmm I was not aware of this? I have never seen this said before... I hope this doesnt scupper my plans. If this is true I would have thought that...

Re: Oil Line Fitting Removal

Ok thanks for the advice I will go away and try this, however I suspect that the old hose will rip/tear at the collar base before it turns in the fitting, my other ones were very difficult to pull out of the sheath even once the center fitting had been removed. I would then be left with a fitting wi...

I dont know, Im guessing that RC5+ was a reformulated replacement for RC5 which they dont mention on their website. Whether RC5+ is more/less streetable than RC5 I cannot say.

Re: BIB5566

Flywheel and gearbox? Sent from my SM-G988B using Tapatalk I had my 901/13 gearbox rebuilt with an LSD by Mike Bainbridge last winter. So obviously that wont need any changes. I have got a lightweight Aasco Motorsport aluminium flywheel which should make up for the additional weight of the heavier ...

Re: BIB5566

My engine plans for this car have ebbed and flowed. I have been torn between building something on my original case, or changing the case. Originally I was planning a 2.5LS build on the original case, this needed replacement crank, rods, bolts, P&C, heads, MFI pump work etc, then I moved towards...

No idea how to hold the inner fitting whilst turning the outer fitting...
