2.0L Engine Case starting 903***

I am hunting a 2.0L 1966 engine case as close as possible to 903695

Any case starting 903*** would work well.

I could possibly swap with an earlier or later 2.0L case if you have a 903*** but need one in return, plus some cash.

Thanks for reading :)

996 Turbos

I agree with the comment about considering a 996.1 C2 over a turbo. They are very different cars though, the turbo has the power and feels planted, whereas the 996.1 C2 feels light on its feet, Rev happy and therefore hugely engaging on country roads, but equally great on the motorway. I’m on my 5th...

Re: Front Mats to fit a 1976 3.2 Carrera with Aircon.

Got mine for my ‘88 from southbound. The best spec for the money was factory carpet and edging with 2 eyelets for both front mats, plus the porsche OEM metal clamps that bolt in to the seat and go through the eyelets in each mat to hold them in place. Factory look and fit. Sent from my iPhone using ...

Pair of 16x8 Fuchs for 3.2 Carrera

Hi all After a lot of back and forth, I have decided I want to go 7 & 8’s on my ‘88 Carrera. I have 7s on the rear I can move upfront, but I am after a pair of 8s for the rear. Ideally factory finish and no kerbing so I don’t have to restore them. If you have a pair of 16x8s to sell, do give me ...

WTB Recaro sport seat rails

Have you spoken to Paul or Matt at Karmann Konnection. They could probably get the right one for you as I think they are at Strahle SwapMeet in Germany. Or they might already have one.

Call bsmotorsport (neil bainbridge) and I’m sure Rob will answer. If not ask for him and he should be able to help.
Like I said, they do a lot of engine work for the various resto shops.

Re: Engine case machining

Whoever you choose, ask if they machine in-house or send it out. You’ll only pay an additional markup if its sent out.

A lot of the big names and some mentioned send them out. I expect Neil Bainbridge do a lot of outsourced engine work, so I’d call Rob there.

Re: LWB sports seats in SWB

. As far as I remember, the mounting holes in both SWB & LWB tilting bases have the same spacing so you should be able to mount LWB sport seats/LWB tilting bases in a SWB car. . Thanks. So it sounds like both should fit. I’d be interested if anyone has any thoughts on the pros or cons or either...

LWB sports seats in SWB

Hi everyone Apologies, I’ve been reading around and getting a bit confused. Hoping someone can clarify if that’s ok. I know LWB Sports Seats are not the same as SWB, however I understand they fit, and I’d like to use the set I have. My question is around sliding/tilting bases: 1. Would a set of LWB ...

Re: Tracking 911818 case for my rhd ‘67

However I am wondering if anyone has any ideas on where I might try and post/search for my missing engine case 911818. Currently I have someone elses 911951 case. Any ideas of where I can look for the case. I know it’s a longshot but I do know others that have found theirs. I’m trying to get one of...

Re: Tracking 911818 case for my rhd ‘67

Here is a photo of that same original owner (Ray Cutler) sat in his race car in the 50s. It was his wife in that same photo who provided these photos of the sand beige 911 with him later in life, and the second owner. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20221018/508d431b6115501dfcbbac7813181c90.jpg Sen...

Re: Tracking 911818 case for my rhd ‘67

assume it was the dealers sesne of humour then for the receipt and jacket  Yes, I did wonder if the buyer turned up in the same trousers and shoes, and arguably the same hair (just a bit older), so thought it would be funny if he posed with the seller jacket on, holding the same piece of paper...

Not related. The original owner can’t remember the guys name. I guess it was the late sixties and triple brown must have been the look :)

Re: Tracking 911818 case for my rhd ‘67

Interestingly this famous lhd rally spec car in the same colour was completed on the same day, only 33 chassis out, 12 gearboxes out and 31 engine cases out. Sadly for me, mine isn’t worth 1/4 of its price tag :) This car… https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20221018/4c4a7b20f7be800bbfc00ff8921613a3.jp...
