Engine lid latch

Has anyone got an engine lid latch they would like to sell (the part fitted to lid not the body). Its for a 66 912. But I think other years may fit.

Re: Can anyone recommend a digital multimeter

Always used fluke meters for my work 34 years. Never let me down.

Re: It started with a pop

Hi Andrew
When tuning my carbs with an afr meter I found it really helpful to completely disconnect the accelerator pumps and go for a drive to get them dialled in. Although I'm running webers but should be able to do the same on the solex carbs.

I don't think you can go wrong getting prs to do the work. They really know their stuff on these engines. They did the oil pump oldham coupling for me.

Re: Breaking in a new cam...

It's a 912 engine with AA big bore kit, sx1 cam and I also fitted the precision matters full flow filter onto the 3rdpiece. It's done about 2500 to 3000 miles now and all seems well with quite clean oil between changes.

Re: Breaking in a new cam...

Thanks for that, looks to be fairly comprehensive info. As part of the rebuild, I've lubed up all the parts on assembly, and I always crank an engine after installation and oil fill with the plugs out to build some oil pressure. No preferences about the type of oil to use when doing the break in? I...

Apologies if people had been informed of this elsewhere on the forum. It was only made aware to me last night by Danny.

Re: Electronic Ignition

I've been using a 123 distributor on my 912 for a few years now and I'm really pleased with it. Once set up you never need to touch it!

Re: 912 Display & Meet Up - Stanford Hall - Sunday 3rd May 2

Does anyone know if the 912 display will be taking place at stanford hall this year? As far as I can tell the event is still due to take place on 22nd august.

Re: Best gearbox oil?

I put the swepco stuff in mine as I read it was better for older gearboxes and it seems to work really well. But I wouldn't say it made a huge difference in shifting gears.
