Re: '72 T Hesitation & lack of top end

As was mentioned about the coil - just because it is new, do not discount it as a possible cause. You mentioned newer fuel hose in the engine bay. Over the past several years here in the USA, fuel hose has become something of an issue. Whether it is newer, cheaper produced hose, or different fuel, o...

Re: '72 T Hesitation & lack of top end

At less than about 1/2 to 2/3 throttle, Webers rely a lot on the idle jets, with fine tuning courtesy of the emulsion tubes. As you open the throttle wider, fuel is drawn through the main jets. Fine tuning is done via the air correctors. To me it sounds like the main jets may be blocked, or some of...

FS: 1962 VW Singlecab Truck

I have a buddy that always has one or two VW Bus projects and sells a couple a year - I usually help him list them online (because I live online). I've driven this one - it's a great truck, perfectly driveable, but not sure about MOT on your side of the pond. Great fun to roll up anywhere and just w...

Re: Hello from Greg Gear Head in the USA

Thanks - I like the 'feel' of this board. More like the corner pub than the huge scale on Pelican, etc. That's pretty funny - I've already had a handful of people note to me that they've bought parts from me in the past. Guess I sell a lot.... =) Now if I can just get my new parts business to take o...

Re: 2 litre 911 engine mods

One of the things I like about this mod, is that it can't hurt, and doesn't trade anything off, like a peaky cam can - you don't lose bottom end, etc.

Re: 2 litre 911 engine mods

Since you are building it, I'd definitely boat tail the case webs. It will be a revy short stroke motor, so the 10hp people usually claim for this mod will definitely help, IMO. Very interesting, never heard of that one, care to elaborate? Sure - you know the engine is basically an air pump - remov...

Re: 911 Forum users please post a picture of your car.

Hey Paul, I completely understand your perspective, and am of the same mind. However, my uncle built the car himself, to perform and without the constraint of originality, so I will likely enjoy it as it is, making only minor period adjustments to be a bit more 'IROC/RSR' look. If I get the itch, I ...

Here's a pic of my slow project 73.5 911T: When I bought her - http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h43/greggearhead/DSC02222_zps6b2664f2.jpg After stripping off the big bumpers, polished fuchs, whale tail, one-piece momo buckets, big rockers, etc. and on the way to the metal shop to get a new front pa...
