Re: Black and silver number plates

I looked into this and couldn't find a definite answer that they are allowed on cars. I know a traffic cop and he said as it can be read and would be captured by ANPR nobody is going to care on a 50 year old car. However he said strictly it should be full size on cars. I've not been stopped yet, but...

Re: Road test of the week

I just don't understand why anyone would want to spend £100k plus on an electric conversion at this stage. Policy is showing us classics are going to be exempt in clean air zones, even France will eventually sort us a crit-air sticker out. At some point petrol will become unaffordable, but when? 20 ...

Re: Silverstone Classic:getting too expensive?

If you join TIPEC you can get on the club display and its £130 for the weekend for 2 adults and car. Maybe not worthwhile joining for this 1 event, but you also get discounts at Thruxton and Donington Historic too.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?

for those that know me .... that interior is right up my street 8) Love a bright interior. Have you seen my 964 interior ? I haven’t seen the 964 no, but this interior is certainly different. It’s very green with some carbon fibre bits. Not sure if they are original or not, will go through the opti...

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?

sounds great. Seem to be a few early boxsters on here now... any pics ? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230221/a3c1c4bbc20cd5c44bc47243c6d5e9ca.jpg Very simple looking with newer clear lenses. The interior is green. Not my first choice but I actually quite like the fact it’s not black and a bit ...

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?

Thought it was about time I turned to the dark side and bought a water pumper. I still wanted that analogue feel, so after much research I decided to look for an early 2.5 manual Boxster. After 6 months I found one that wasn't for sale and had been pampered by its owner who was looking downsize his ...

Re: Marketplace for my hot-roddy-resto-moddy-ex-T

I don’t agree with that. I daily drive my classic for 20 years and really loved it. guess it depends on your journey. Mine was 16 miles on the m1, then 4 miles in Leeds city centre all at rush hour. Now if it were back roads, different story. My current commute is 4 metres from bedroom to office. S...

Re: DDK & Z-club breakfast meet at The Motorist - 14th May

updated in my calendar. Will definitely be more and a wider range of cars on the Sunday. Also on breakfast you can still grab food and walk around the car park without booking. On the reserved spaces. Are they going to reserve the spaces near the entrance and / or all together? Sometimes they do thi...

Re: Marketplace for my hot-roddy-resto-moddy-ex-T

This may not be the answer for all, but I found joining a car club meant I use my classic more. Its mainly summer or dry day in winter (no salt) use, but thats when its fun to drive it anyway. But even if you are only going out for a coffee, if you've got like minded people with you its a lot more f...

Lots of interest, well done for taking this on Neil. So in terms of confirmation, the display stand is definitely on? From memory, we all had to buy an individual ticket and then we somehow got a display pass on arrival?

Neil do you want me to ask the 912E crew? There are about 5 or 6 I think are likely to come.
