Re: Opening rear quarter lights. Chrome moulding sill.
I had mine re-chromed and they are fine. The rearmost fixing lug snapped off but I just fitted it with the other lugs and some sealant.

Fitting front and back bumpers
I am refitting front and back bumpers to my newly painted SWB, in which order are the support bracket, fender flange, bumper flange and spacing square rubber spacer fitted?

Steel engine lid
I have just followed the thread on aluminium engine lids but what is the recommendation for steel lids for a 1965 car. Do they all need fitting with maybe alterations to the back wings or are they just a bolt on replacement.

Paint questions
I have had major bodywork done on my swb car and it is about to have a full respray. What is the accepted way to spray the front wings, on or off the car? Also does the body colour go under the door cards or is there a black backing.

Rear wing / sill join
I'm having some work done on the rear wings of my 1965 911, is the join between the rear wing and the sill under the door visible or is it filled and smoothed?

Re: Rear Quarter Windows Help
My local nuts and bolt shop matched them in stainless when I rebuilt them 20 odd years ago. If you can measure them ebay might be your friend.

Re: front lid release 1969
I think my slightly earlier car has a catch both front and back that releases itself if the cable breaks.

Re: Engine mount washers
As I only have 2.2t engine I don't think the different performance between the mounting options will matter, I will go with facing outwards as that was original. Thanks to all for the comments.

Engine mount washers
On an early 911 which way should the large dished washers face on the engine mounts, curved towards the rubber or away from the rubber. Pictures I have found on Google show both.
