Re: Paint ID code plate

Actually, after a bit of going through old invoices- my plate did not come from Design911- I got it from Wojtek at Carbone in Poland- he still sells them, all versions:

'72 Targa wind noise between bottom of quarterlight and A Pillar

I have a high level of wind noise in my Targa. It is coming from a gap between door and A Pillar where the windscreen frame seal meets the door seal. There is a see through gap. I have managed to contain it with a piece of plasticine, but now looking for amore professional solution. I have found a &...

nut dropped near spark plug

I was going to change my spark plugs for the new season this weekend, but failed on cylinder 4- just could not get the plug socket on the plug. further investigation with an endoscope showed that I have an M6 nut in the gap between the body of the spark plug and the head. Thanks Andy.
Yes it is, my 2.4 did not run particularly well with that- swapping it for the correct one made a huge difference.

Re: Engine lid grill

Hi,

I believe I have one of those. Did not use it because I found I could save my original one and did that. I can dig it out in the loft and check if you are interested.

Re: Rennline Short shift

Hi, I fitted this about 3 years ago and it does exactly what it says on the tin. The installation with epoxy resin is no issue as long as you make sure the lever and socket ate absolutely free of grease, oil etc. But be aware that it amplifies the chance of mis-shifts, especially if the linkage is n...

Hi Tom, I used a small bearing: https://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/advanced_search_result.php?search_in_description=1&keywords=696ZZ+ Alternatively Rocky SRL in Italy will sell you the actuator assembly: https://www.ebay.com/itm/ZENITH-40-TIN-CARBURETOR-PUMP-ROD-ACTUATOR-CAMS/264076921645?epid=11...

Hi, the screws are very short standard DIN countersunk screws - at least on mine. I do not remember any grub screws.

Re: brakes pulling to one side

Once you have all the callipers on the bench and the pistons blown out, it is actually not that much more work to split them and have them media blasted and re-plated. Costs for plating all 4 were £50 three years ago and the result is very appealing I think. Only thing to bear in mind is that one of...

Thanks Angus,
that sounds like a plausible explanation as to why my 72 does not have it....
