Re: Pre-war fun.

Thanks for all the kind comments chaps. I'll certainly keep you updated. There are bound to be some trials and tribulations. Winston-I'm in Warwickshire between Leamington and Kenilworth. Hoping to start with Cuborough. I think I'm developing a slight understanding of the FN view of the world! Mike-...

Pre-war fun.

I've been into cars for as long as I can remember. As a child things were rather nebulous - a mate's dad had a V12 pre HE XJS that we used to love watching the digital read out of miles per gallon go to 0.0!. A chap in the suburb had a 308: 'if you work hard, son, one day you can have a Ferrari'. My...

NOW SOLD - 2.7 LUX 1976 For Sale

NOW SOLD Dear DDK, Not sure how many of you are interested in this, but you might know someone who is. Sadly, in order to fund purchase of my new classic I'm needing to sell my 911. I've loved having this car over the last 5 years, and we've had many good times together, including using it at my wed...

Wanted right/offside rear bumper over-rider for 1976 IB car.

Hi, Unfortunately a lady reversed into my car on Monday. Fortunately, she only damaged the O/S over-rider PN 91150534200, but these are NLA from Porsche and the OEM ones are about 150quid. Ugh. If anyone has a really good 2nd hand one, could they let me know please. Maybe one of you cool backdate pe...

Re: Guess the Car?

Saw it at Prescott last year and it sounded like it looks. Handled like it too! 200hp, but I think it said around 800lbft of torque on the blurb.

Wanted - drivers side locking seat rail for 'tombstone' seat

Hi,

The locking seat rail mechanism on my 1976 911 drivers (O/S) seat has failed catastrophically. Fortunately in the position I need it to be in to drive it. Does anyone have a used one of these for sale?

Thanks

Wanted - IB polished sill covers and end caps.

My sill covers are looking somewhat dowdy (understatement) and I know that my car should have the polished version. Unfortunately, these are hideously expensive new, and that is not where I want to be spending that kind of money currently! Therefore, if anyone has some good used ones at a reasonable...

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day

My recent honeymoon was in California, and we snuck over to Nevada for the Saturday of the National Championship Air Races. This was the finish of the Unlimited Gold race - Voodoo won in the end but not by much, at an average speed of 499mph! In the finals the following day, Voodoo won. An excellent...

Re: Flapper Box in Stainless Steel - options

I bought some of the dansk ones which were of reasonable quality and fitted ok. Functionally fine too. Not much more expensive than mild steel ones and will hopefully be another fit and forget item.

Re: Rear drop link play question.

Thanks for all the comments - generally as I suspected...

I may have been overstating the amount of movement, but it is certainly palpable and visible. When I queried what they should be like 'rock solid' was the answer. Presumably the SC onwards are more akin to this.

Rear drop link play question.

Hi, I (why, oh why) decided to try a new, local, MOT station... They failed my '76 2.7 on rear drop link play, so I thought fair enough, they're probably 40 years old, ordered the new bushes from Porsche and changed them. Apparently there is still an 'unacceptable' amount of play in them. To be clea...
