Re: Lke Maggiore Italy to the UK.... any route advice?
Winter tyres are only mandatory from November the end of the first week in November, otherwise you have to carry chains.... but right now, you'll be lucky to only see a light dusting of snow. I'd avoid the Chamonix tunnel, it costs a small fortune; and if you are going to take the Swiss route, Inter...

Re: Lke Maggiore Italy to the UK.... any route advice?
Hi Mike, I do this drive regularly...... Avoid the Route Est through France, it is deadly boring, take yourself further over towards Strasbourg & you'll also avoid the tolls. Instead of routing through the San Gottard tunnel, go over the pass instead, you'll catch it just right before the snow s...

Thanks.... I was really lucky to get my hands on him, previous owner had him from new (bit of a story there...)
The road trip Northbound became a mini epic in a constant Force 8 gale, especially round the Outer Banks, and across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge......
Good fun though, as always

Re: Is there something wrong with us?
Is it a man thing?
I've been sifting through boxes of 'stuff' that I've been collecting over the years, desperately trying to justify it all, & find homes for much of it.
Maybe I should just call myself Dave at weekends....

Re: 911 'S' on eBay
Wow! A reasonably courteous reply, miles better than the: I've got better things to do with my time! Regards Karen - karen_leila Or the: Thank you but I already have a huge number of people wanting the car. It is very rare and, for the record, I am not a liar so if I say it has matching numbers then...

Re: WTD: 1988-89 Carrera
Hmmm Nick... Looks like the car I want..... I had rear spoiler delete high up on my list.... I'm looking at a LHD in November. & absolutely no Guards Red. Nige, I'm swapping the old 901 in my '69T for a 915, so I'll have plenty of opportunity to thrash around in it & make up my mind. I have ...

Re: WTD: 1988-89 Carrera
It's for a daily driver, so I'm not looking for anything overly special. In my opinion, a slightly better car than the SC, G50 gearbox, bigger & stronger engine. No sunroof would be nice, LHD an advantage. In 1988, the wheel size was increased slightly & they moved away from the awful teleph...

Re: WTD: 1988-89 Carrera
Italian cars, though lower in spec, are ridiculously over priced, even a crappy old Fiat Punto, so I'm not holding out much hope of finding one over here...
Specifically 88/89 for the body shape. I'm fairly flexible on most things, but no Guards Red...

Re: 911 'S' on eBay
Yup, his/her snippy replies to my otherwise perfectly normal questions was an obvious indicator that something isn't quite right about the whole thing....
Anyway, looking for a daily driver - 88/89 3.2 Carrera if anyone knows of a good one.....
