4 bolt cv joint

Hi All,

I have one of my CV's has packed up on my 71S, it is a 4 bolt plus 2 dowels.

I assume these are different from 6 bolt ones. The only people advertising 4 bolts ones that I can find is porcheshop at £263,which seems quite a lot of one CV :-)

Cheers

Re: Black vinyl and houndstooth front seats - now sold

FYI on these, they are easy to swap and actually the missing seatbelt bracket is just attached through the seat slider so easy to swap over,

Thanks

Re: Black vinyl and houndstooth front seats - now sold

Hi All, I bought these from Simon as temp seats while I refurb mine, they are very nice, thanks to him and had a great catch up when we met. I have put the LH drivers one in and all good, but started to look at the RH passenger one and as it is earlier it doesnt have the seat belt mounting point bui...

Re: Happy days, 911S is alive!

Thanks all again, I am going through the gear linkage and there is definitely play in the bushes at the back which I can sort out so we'll see how that goes. Thanks for the horn suggestion, I think its fixed - as suggested, the horn ring is a little less flat than it should and maybe the plunger a bi...

Re: Happy days, 911S is alive!

The guys I took it to are a couple of miles down the road to me. They normally tune their VW/Porsche moderns with laptop on the rolling road but they are very savy and understand how engines work. I have been through the CMA and was happy to adjust the pump main and idle screws, and see what the res...

Happy days, 911S is alive!

Hi All, Just wanted to share my excitement at taking my 2.2 911S to the rolling road today and it being transformed by a combination of using the Porsche CMA guide and the modern tech of rolling road and lamda sensors etc. Got it driving really nicely, no nasty popping and banging etc and 178 hp at ...

Seat refurb

Hi All, The next job on my list is to do something about my seats. I have quite good but saggy comfort seats in my 71 S. Obviously some of the interior has collapsed and will need new foams. I guess I have 2 options either refurb these, and I have looked at Lakewell.com as people that seem good, the...

2.2T crank and rods

Hi All,

I put up a 2.2T crank and rods on ebay, sorry should have put them on here first. The parts are items:

Have a load of other 2.2 engine odds and sods that I will put on here when I get a chance,

Re: Stock 23mm or 26/27mm rear torsion bar?

I read this thread with interest, I have a standard 71 S and during the build went back to standard torsion bars, I havent driven it in anger yet so I will look to see how it works out. I ended up with a pair of 22mm front swayaway bars that I am not using if anyone is looing for a stiffer alternati...
