Great news. Nothing like getting to the bottom of the issue through dogged perseverance.

Re: 1987 3.2 Carrera Backdate project - Sladeys hotrod

Thanks Tim. However they actually are new spark plugs. That soot is after two trips of about 5 miles. Out of interest what hotter plugs did you switch to? That’s my point. They soot up and can’t self clear. Hotter will burn off the soot. I think the ones in at the minute are WR5DC+ but start with w...

In each occasion a new set of spark plugs fixed it. More recently I have switched to a hotter plug, runs hotter and so self cle...

Re: Old Sckool 5 cc model Diesel engine build

Not all the audience is gone, just watching quietly. Shame it didn’t run, but that’s not unusual I think for these motors. I think the tolerances are pretty tight. Remember the photo of the tiny motor my dad made? I remember him telling me that that never ran either. I might try one day, but I’ve go...

Re: Frazer Nash/BMW 319

Fabulous story with an incredible outcome. The more I get into pre war cars, the more I enjoy them but it is a sad truth that the owners and keepers are slipping away from us. Keep them running, these old cars need to be used, enjoyed and kept out of museums!
