Re: CIS vs MFI Fuel Pump
For the sake of accuracy and because I have just re-read the manual (memory is fickle!) the reason for the excess flow rate is primarily to keep the fuel as cool as possible, not for cooling the pump. So the least time spent inside the MFI pump the less heat it will pick up. The CIS pump flow rate i...

Re: CIS vs MFI Fuel Pump
I don't know the specs on a CIS pump but the spec flow rate for an MFI system is far higher than the actual consumption because the excess fuel is used to help cool the mechanical pump. For my 2.2S the required flow rate is 125 l/hr at 12.5PSI. It may be more for larger motors. I suggest that you fi...

Re: Fuel Pump for 1973 with MFI
You are correct, there is a return from the MFI pump back to the tank. It is the old T piece bypass connection for the original Bosch pump that needs either blanking off or removing completely. The spec supply pressure for the MFI pump is 12.5 PSI which is controlled at the fuel console by a restric...

Re: Fuel Pump for 1973 with MFI
I have one of these on my 2.2S and it works fine. It meets the specs for the original Bosch unit in terms of flow rate (VIP for MFI) and as the MFI supply is fixed at circa 12.5 psi its 1 bar rating is fine too. http://www.glencoeltd.co.uk/walbro-tcp012-out-tank-fuel-injection-pump-1-bar/ It is also...

Re: Tricky question for you!
It strikes me that if you are competing against cars in your class with Hewland boxes the you need to do the same. The engineering effort involved to change to a different box is probably the same irrespective of the actual box so go for the best performance option. There is no question that a dog b...

I am pretty sure that is a '73 2.7RS number. Probably means you can build a car around it and then let RM auction it ££££££££££££££!

Hi Jo My car is the elusive sister to yours, currently sitting snug and dry in its winter home waiting for a sunny spring day to come over the horizon rather than hurricanes! It is virtually identical to yours. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d15/njemail2/DSCF1324-2_zps75609175.jpg [/URL] Cheers N...
