Hi,
Any chance of a better picture, and some details? This is a bit sparse!

Re: ambient temp guage repair
Hi Keith, I explored this for my 65/66 car a couple of years ago and was told that the only person (in the world!) capable of doing this had retired, and that the only remaining option is to have the gauge converted to electronic working - so I went with that. They sound pretty fragile anyway. If yo...

Re: LYY 911D Restoration
Hi All,
I am sure an expert like Nick is right, but it would be a shame if this car was reshelled with a RHD 912 as there are only about fifteen of these 'on the road' and about another 20 at some stage of restoration.
Nevertheless, good luck with it.

For that the purchaser could have a new one! - but then perhaps he/she already has a new one.

Re: my 912
Was it in poorer condition than you originally thought when it actually arrived? It looks as though it would be pretty expensive to restore.

Re: WINTER STORAGE
Hi Kitten, You wanted to be reminded why you should keep your car inside for the WINTER months. You only need to spend a happy few hours looking at the amazing Restoration Threads on this site to see how vicious corrosion on these cars can be, and the amount of nooks and crannies on their underside....

Re: WINTER STORAGE
Hi,
If, as an Impatient Kitten, you have unlimited funds to re-restore the car then I would get on and drive it every day. If you haven't then I would caution against it - it is as simple as that!
Hest wishes,
Howard

Re: wheels
Hi Max, I may be slightly ahead of myself, but all the metalwork has been done and she is primer waiting to be painted next week. We are aiming for the spring now! I have just had the wheels refurbished and was thinking about getting them shod ready. Incidentally, I wondered if you still have the ph...

Re: wheels
Ian and Nick,
Many thanks both - I shall have to see if I can stretch to these.

Nick
I'm sure it's been on here before, but I wondered if you could tell me the best tyres for the 4.5" wheels? Presumably they would be tubeless?, and which make would you go for?
Would be really grateful for the advice.
Many thanks,
Howard

Re: My 1965 912
Hi Anthony, As far as I know the temperature gauge in the left of the 5 gauge positions was offered as an option for only a short while. The sender that links to the gauge works via a long delicate capillary tube which is easily and often broken. Mine wasn't working and when I looked into it I was t...

Re: My 1965 912
Hi Dave, That is a lovely very early car you have there - I think I saw it at Hedingham last year? If it is a British car it must have been one of the first RHD cars. No chance of letting us know its Vin number? Incidentally, does it have the outside temperature gauge option and, if so, is it still ...

MOTORTUNE LTD
Just noticed your interesting thread. My 1966 912 was serviced in 1968 and 1969 by Motortune Ltd., as per your license holder, shortly after which the engine blew up and had to be rebuilt!
Good luck with your fine car.
