front torsion bars
hi all sound advice, rust pitting has not damaged the splines, just have surface rust, but if the bars are so reasonable, then a new / replacement pair might be in order haasad, mine sound the same as yours, probably about the same depth of corrosion, grease nipple is an interesting idea, certainly w...

front torsion bars
I have (finally) managed to extract the front torsion bars from their A frame mounts and noticed a fair bit of surface rust under the original bubbly paint, extending for about 75mm inboard of the splined ends Rust is at the rear end, adjacent to the steering rack, the rest of the bars are fine Ques...

wear on discs
thanks andy, david
I checked the discs last night, rears are down to 18mm, so they get binned, fronts are pretty much 20mm so i guess probably newer ones
might just treat myself to new ones front and back, at least it'll look smarter than half and halfthanks again

wear on discs
morning is there a recomended minimum thickness that discs can be measured for, my 75 2.7 Carrera has vented fronts and solid rears I have no idea about the age of my discs, they have light scoring on them, the usual rusty inner section and rusty edges and a bit of a lip on the edges Bert at berlyn ...

removing inner door panel
james these old cars are usually pretty obvoius to pull apart, most important thing is to GENTLY pry the inner panels off I would suggest as the plastic retaining clips will be brittle or if metal they may have started to rust (Forest Fine will probably sell new ones anyway and I'm sure Roger Bray w...
