Re: Who would you trust with your engine rebuild
I would happily recommend Dominic Delaney at SVP in Redditch. He fully rebuilt my 2.0E engine. Sensible price (more than 5 less than 10) and no short cuts taken. Engine runs sweet and no leaks ! Wouldn't trust them at all, made a shocking job of fitting a Ben Coles rear ARB for me and when I called...

Sporto owners ?
I am trying to track down a 1969 model sportomatic car for reference. Unfortunately the sporto gearbox/shift stick wiring loom was lost in the strip down of my car and a new one needs to be made up. I am trying to find a '69 car so that I can take some pictures and send them to Kroon who have promis...

I can vouch for Kroon. Very thorough and professional. If he can't get it 100% right he won't do it.... Not cheap but worth it.

Yes beware Gumtree. I advised a foreign client last year who had paid a deposit on a flat advertised on Gumtree, turned up and the place was an office block. Yes, who pays a deposit for a property they have not seen , but with London rentals sometimes there is pressure to act fast.

Re: MFI pumps
Ha ha - I would be seriously impressed with anyone who could DIY modify their MFI pump !! You'd need some really sophisticated tools and measuring kit to get it right. This is one component I would leave to the (very small number) of MFI pump experts to sort out.

Windscreen question
My 1969 911e was originally supplied with a tinted windscreen (accessory 9348). I have sourced a replacement (as my current one, which is not the original, is badly scratched). The replacement is tinted with a greenish band across the top 20% of so of the screen. Does anyone know if that is correct ...

Sporto wiring harness
Hi Restoring my 69 911e sporto and somewhere in the strip down managed to lose the sporto loom - effectively the wires and sockets connecting to the two switches on the gearbox - reverse indicator and bridging switch. If anyone has the harness or even just the two sockets that plug into the switches...

Re: Immobilisers, curse them!
I agree - I hate after-market immobilisers and alarms and wish people didn't fit them to classic cars. People usually chop up the original loom in various ways to fit them and then it is a nightmare trying to get the loom back original (and working) again once the alarm/immobiliser fails - which it ...

Re: Front wings
Good luck with it all. I agree with the comment made above - does anyone still really believe an unrestored 40yr + RHD 911 will have no rust at all ?? I think we all smile when we read those adverts "unrestored/no rust/original paint"... I bought two new Porsche front wings for my 91...

Re: RHD UK No 1 '67 911S ex Porsche Cars GB reg LYY 911D auc
Without the original engine and with a messed up body ...... it's going to cost a lot of time and effort to make this a nice car. Someone will pay a lot for it nonetheless...

Yes, 1000% return over ten years beats even prime London property as an investment. Not sure an RS will be worth £3.5m in 2023, but who knows, maybe ...

Re: 911T
I wonder if a single panel of this car won't need replacing ... but I really hope it does get restored.. Nothing wrong with a T.
