Scottish outing?

It's May and as most of you north of the border should know it's a month when we can get some good weather. So who fancies a drive out somewhere one Sunday? I'm open to both dates and venue, so let,s hear some ideas. It would be really nice to meet other Scottish DDK'ers. One suggestion is that the ...

Finally back on the road and thanks to you all for you advice. Had a slight problem in that the inner circlip came free when I was pulling the pin  and a 1 hour job turned out to be a 3 hours! By the way the spacer goes on before the tensioner.

So my new standard chain tensioner has arrived and I was wondering a couple of things. First there is a pin holding the plunger in place, I know that this has to be removed but how? It is held under the circlip that hold the plunger assembly in place but my initial attempts to slide this around has ...

John I have decided to go with standard tensioners and use the collar (which did work when my tensioner failed). So are you interested in selling them?

I have a tip for you if you are using a pressure bleeder system. Make sure that you clamp the breather pipe at the reservoir otherwise you’ll end up with a litre of brake fluid underneath the spare tyre

Check out this post to get a bit a background to the fact that I need to replace a broken cam chain tensioner.

A word of warning, the oil tank holds a lot of oil and when you take out the plug be prepared with a large container or you'll end up like me with lots of oil EVERYWHERE

I had the same problem a couple of months back. Took the alternator out (which is an easy job) has it checked and it was okay. Put it all back together again cleaned the connection and check all the wiring to the regulator and it was fine, no more red light. To see if you have a charge you could put...

Hi Helen

Try http://www.mgm-spares.co.uk/vintage-plates/ they do both metal and self adhesive and are a lot cheaper than £100. Used them myself and they are great and no need to send a whole load of paperwork either V5 etc.

Are you sure we can't talk you out of the wedding and then with all the money you would save you could get your very own 550....

Only joking, happy hunting and good luck with the wedding.
