Here is a correct original badge.
The Carbone example appears to be more correct.- Mon Nov 09, 2020 4:43 pm

Re: Offer to Stamp Paint Tags
It is great that John is able to stamp the paint tags for us. One does have to be careful choosing the correct code to stamp though. One example is the "1818 G" tag at the beginning of the thread. It looks nicely stamped, but I have never seen an original 1818 with G suffix, I have many ex...

Re: Porsche COA
This LOO, has anyone got a sample to share? Do you have to provide engine # to confirm? Does it provide codes as well as descriptions for paint, interior and options? Does it provide country equipment codes or distributor codes?

Re: Porsche COA
So, I have developed a new supplier, and he can supply the data for the 1970 & later cars. This includes 914/4 & 914/6; however, for the 914 models no transmission #'s are available. For a few years the transmission #'s are mostly not available for the 911 as well. Other than that, I general...

The light should blink to warn you that the handbrake is engaged.

Re: Information needed for 1971 911's
Actually, I think something may have happened on the production line to either lose track of the series, or perhaps to get around damaged or missing VIN articles. The production order, Fahrzeug Auftrag, would have the production number on it and the build particulars attached. Then the labels with V...

Re: Information needed for 1971 911's
Mike, it appears that the only gap that exists is in the 911S coupe VIN series. No engine # gaps that I am aware of, except for the known reserved series for the 1965 911 engine where the production engines started at 900101; lower #'s were used for prototypes. Also no other VIN gaps except for the ...

Re: Information needed for 1971 911's
So I was minding my business when a member asked a question regarding a 1971 911S engine serial #. The number he was seeing was well above the normal range of serial #'s for the manual transmission engine type 911/02 6310001 to 6311959, but not in the range of the race engines types 911/2x. It turns...

Can anyone make a contribution to this research? I would like to make a statement on the results of my research very soon, and need more data.

His passing is very unfortunate, and my most sincere condolences to his family and close friends. RIP Chris, you will be long reme...

Re: Will 914 Calipers fit a 911T.....are they the same part?
They are essentially the same castings, but the pistons for 914/4 are 42mm against 48mm for the 914/6, 911 & 912.
With a T you may notice little difference unless you drive it hard, and the front/rear balance will also be off.

Re: Calling all anoraks
Typically the cars had 165 SR15 for the 1.7 & 1.8 and 165 HR15 for the 2.0 or /6. The early 1.7 may have come stock with 155, but I think few were delivered as such. Dunlop SP57 was a popular tyre on the 2.0 as original equipment. VR may be a little overkill but acceptable. I much prefer the 185...
