Fuel lines & hoses

I'm about to replace the rubber fuel lines (injection rail pieces etc.) and hoses on my 2:0 litre '74 and wondered what other owners recommendations were of places to buy them? OPC, mittlemotor, motor factor, or from the US. I've used them all for various parts over the years but am unsure which way...

Gearbox mounts

As I try to get some momentum behind getting my '74 2:0 litre 914 back on the road I am about to start ordering some of the parts required and one I'm puzzling over are the gearbox mounts. These are the two on the rear of the box with a cup plate and a long bolt through them. Now I have them off the...

Re: 914 used parts - what do you need?

2:0 heat exchangers..... Bit heavy but must be on many people's list of "nice to have", not sure when you say headers if you mean this, apologies if so.

Re: Interior Light

Brilliant thanks both, glad it's not a unique "914 only" job!

Interior Light

Hello there, I've been lurking for a while after getting the hell hole sorted on my 914 and rebuilding the garage it is housed in, but am now trying to get back into the stride in the reassembly of my '74 2:0 litre. I thought I'd get stuck into the interior parts as they should be easier than the me...

Re: Anyone Know This Car? Old Pics Found

It was a lovely 914, I also had a RHD 914 at that time and at that meet, not a Crayford and sitting in Ian's revealed all the areas where the Crayford conversion was better at retaining the "feel" of the original 914 than mine had been. Still I had a blast in my orange 2:0 litre that day o...

Re: Interior parts help needed please

Andrew, many thanks for the part numbers, I have bought the seatbelt bolt from the OPC at Reading as I also needed some calliper fixing bolts. They were excellent as usual, only took a couple of days to arrive. As always not the cheapest source but not unreasonable. I need to check on the interior l...

Interior parts help needed please

Hi there, i am looking for a couple of small interior parts which seem to have been lost in the process of having the hell hole in my '74 2:0 litre repaired . I am after a bolt for the lower seat belt mount where it bolts to the sill. This is a shouldered bolt ( I think this is the term), and is a 1...

Re: Targa Trim Clip

Dear all, apologies for barging in to this thread, but I am in the same position as Stuart and need to refit my chrome trim having had hell hole repairs done on my '74 2:0 litre, previously the trim looks like it was bonded to the rear wing. I now have a nice new hole in the rear wing but no trim cl...

Back home

I have now picked up my 914 from Deano, all the welding finished including returning the wing to it's rightful place, and the rear quarter, door pillar and door have been re-painted to blend with the rest. I am so pleased with the job. It is fantastic to have a solid 914 back in my life. Now to emba...

Hell Hole Resto

I thought I might give an update of progress on my '74 red 2:0 litre. She has been off the road for about 9 years.... Initially "just" to do a 4 to 5 stud swap... but in the way of these things I started to investigate a small area of scab about the size of a 50p piece under the battery tr...

Panels

An update for those that assisted (thank you)! I have just taken delivery of a new complete inner wing panel, a door post, floor triangle, jack post and cover. We decided the inner long repair could be fabriacted but that these panels were better bought than made up. I bought from Roger Bray, as he ...

I have uploaded some pictures to flickr, I hope this link works? let me know? I think you need to cut and paste rather than click on it but lets see (I am not great on the IT side)......... If it does you can see the worst rust on the piece that joins the suspension mount area to the long. This is t...

Hell hole panels

Thanks for the replies, the welder can fabricate all the pieces but of course it's a trade off of his time/cost versus the panels, plus I suppose the panels look more "factory".... I have taken a couple of pictures and will try to post them to illiustrate what needs replacing. Thanks for t...
