Am I making the right decision (part deux).
Hi all, I was going to reply to AlphaOmega's post as I am in a similar position cash-wise, but thought I'd start a new one.. I'd love a genuine pre-IB but the car must be my daily too. I ran a Moggy Minor hot rod for 5 years as my daily (black Lancia twincam on cover of Retro Cars a few months back ...

I guess it depends how original you want to be. There are lots of companies that can match rubber extrusions, grommets and seals at a fraction of the cost of genuine parts. Clearly, this isn't going to work for heavily shaped window seals, but you may find that for other less prominent trim it is ac...

Apologies for the generalisation, but I don't have a 911 :( (yet) so can only comment on experience fiddling with other old motors. There are two types of tacho, older types can be current sensing (RVI) and newer tend to be voltage sensing (RVC). My guess is that Porsche introduced a newer voltage c...

I notice you have Picoscope. Hook it up to the drive signal and post the results here. Try grounding the scope signal in different places and see how the signal is affected. If that has a significant effect, run a temporary ground wire straight from the drive signal source to track the bad ground. J...

The '73 RS on the Porsche stand at FoS belongs to Jay Kay but I'm not to tell anyone ok? It's a secret.

Classic Porsche Hire - East Sussex?
Hi,
I'd like to hire a classic 911 to go down to FoS on Friday 2nd July. Anyone know where? Preferably in East Sussex.
Failing that, anyone prepared to loan one out for the day?
Cheers
Jonny

Steel early front wing backdate panel
Hello,
I have seen that it is possible to backdate a later front wing by grafting on the lower half indicator/horn grille section from an early front wing. Does anybody make a new steel "backdating" panel to achieve the same result?
