Hi Ratbox, Bear in mind that the cars with chrome trim from 1974 to 1977 (standard 911 an 911S and Carrera with chrome option) did not have an over-ring as the headlamp surround itself was chrome plated. Also you will see 'headlamp ring prime coated' is listed in the catalogue as 75- In the case of ...

Yes and no!!! The door frames and windscreeen trims were black anodised as standard on the '74 Carrera (VIN 91146xxxxx) but could be optioned in chrome or more strictly speaking bright anodised. The headlamp rings for 1974 were always chrome with either of these options. For 1975 models (VIN 91156xx...

I recently obtained COAs for both my Carrera 3 and Carrera 2.7 For the Carrera 3 it lists '5-speed' in the options list and also separately the transmission serial number although not the type in the transmission type/number column. For the C2.7 however it shows 'no data' for the transmission type/n...

Paul, My understanding is contrary to what Nigel says (rare for him to be wrong though) in that the '74 models with a ducktail were not fitted with the rubber front chin spoiler which only came in with the '75 model in conjunction with the whaletail. This is stated in Paul Frere's 'Porsche 911 Story...

Hi Dan, I also have a '74 Carrera 2.7 and will certainly restore to original, think you should do the same. With the number of these cars that have been modified as 'RS replicas originals and especially those in top condition have become rare. There were about 1600 IB Carrera 2.7 coupes produced, sa...
