Anyway got the car around April this year from Alex at Retro as a bit of a project..... It was quite rusty underneath with a pretty tatty interior, but fixi...

If it's an old damper that you're not going to use again you could always carefully file some spanner flats onto the threaded portion, I've done that before with good results.

Early 911 Dampers/shock absorbers

Where's the best place to get dampers for my 1967 911(SWB)? What is the difference between LWB and SWB dampers? will later ones fit my car? Do I have to work out which type of front strut I have? as I have heard there is a difference between Boge and Bilstein/Koni inserts. Grateful for any helpful i...

Blimey is that picture of the Ferrari for real?!??! Does anybody know the story behind the picture? Did it just fail causing the shunt or did it break as a result of the accident? I know that Ferrari used to make their tubs in 2 pieces (a front and rear) and bond them together at the dash (r...

Seat Belts for 911

Hi does anybody know where to get new seatbelts for my '67 911? My car came with 2 point static lap belts and I'd like to upgrade to 3 point static belts for safety reasons, you know the ones you have to adjust yourself without the retractor mechanism. Someone said to me that beetle ones would fit i...

911 Throttle pedal

Hi I have a problem with my throttle pedal not properly returning to the closed position after it has been pressed down. I have lubed the linkage and all seems ok, but it just doesn't return that well. How many return springs should it have and where are they meant to be???? As far as I can see the ...

Sill Replacement

Are there any good sites on the web showing some pictures of a sill replacement on a 911/912?
Done this job a few times on other cars, but want to know what I'm in for before attempting it on my 911.

Unless Porsche are unusual the seatbelt threads are 7/16" (UNF style I think). This is what is in the majority of cars including all the vee-dubs that I've had.
