Well, i finally got to the garage and had a good look at the date stamps. It looks to me like all four are from 1970, rather than 1967 as claimed. The date on the 7" rears looks like this: http://s427.photobucket.com/albums/pp351/GregLund/?action=view&current=DSC03583.jpg That looks pretty ...

Thanks very much Mike and Nick. I'll have to have a look again tomorrow - if the blizzard outside abates and I can dig my way to the garage!! Looks like some of your weather has finally reached here. It is just amazing tonight. But I digress. I thought I had seen all there was to be seen on the back...

Well, at the end of the day, I couldn't help myself. I bought them. Still not sure what I'll do with them, but finally decided I couldn't live without them. It is alleged they are from a '67 911R, but who knows - certainly not me. Wonder if anyone can make anything of the little I can read on the in...

I have done the conversion on my 964. I am very happy with the brightness factor, but as mentioned above, we found that the only bulb available at the time was so long, the only way we could get it to fit AND adjust correctly was to drill a hole in the back of the bowl. I did not want to do that, so...

I carry a set of these (Yeti Snow Net) in the 964 when I know I'm likely to experience extreme road conditions in winter. http://page7.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g86855297 http://page17.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/v131441893#enlargeimg The traction is great, and I'm told they wear very well...

Just to show it CAN be done - but you have to be just a little bit crazy!! And the comment about having to learn to get your feet off everything is absolutely correct. It is only scary for about the first 50 times or so!! Camn never get the hang of this picture posting - maybe this will work? Or may...

Here in northern Japan, which comes under the influence of the monsoon winds blowing out of Siberia in winter and is under deep snow for about five months of the year, snow tyres are mandatory from November till April. Studded tyres have been banned for several years now because of the damage they d...

Thanks very much Graham. That sounds do-able. It was actually the front end I was worried about. I had assumed the rear would be far heavier than you are suggesting, but if it can be balanced by the weight of just the wheels or similar, it shouldn't be an issue. Now that all the roads here are snow ...

Jacking Points (Again)

Just been looking at the brilliant thread on door sills and jacking points and am amazed at the expertise that exists within this group. Wish some of it was here in Japan with me!! I don't have any body work to do at the moment, but over the winter, I am planning to pull all of the suspension out, s...
