Re: Cars and coffee at The Churn

The forecast for Saturday is hot and sunny and we'll be hogging the loungers on the deck at the churn. Come and have a jar of java with some of your Porsche pals.

Re: Porsche 75th anniversary rally

Whilst you are in Stuttgart take some time out to go see the Mercedes museum, it's very close to the Porsche place and as museums go it is a better layout with a load of interesting stuff, cars too.

Re: ignatzcatz's noo skoot

Hi Keith, the bike is registered as an '81 Harley Davidson 1340 Evo softail custom with the old 'W' registration number. In order to swap the registration to a short personal number I have to get the bike MOT'd. Not a problem - I have friends, actually it is fairly legal, there's no indicators or be...

Re: Porsche 75th anniversary rally

The Porsche club GB usually organises a couple of factory trips each year. One is short so you would fly out of the UK to Stuttgart (you book your own flight) then PCGB sorts out the three or four night hotel stay and visit to the museum. The longer affair would be where in addition the the factory ...

Check out my new mosheen. This was an '81 evo custom softail and all I took from the original bike, which came from Italy of all places, was the 1340 engine and gearbox. Everything else has been custom made, that's frame, seat, guards, forks, friggin' totally hand finished in a Cole Foster, him of t...

Shere Hill Climb Sept 4th

This is becoming quite a big event, two fields just for spectator parking, 234 various motor vehicles and 20 or so two wheeled machines all having a thrash up the hill which is more East Moseley than Shere location wise. In attendance will be Porsche Guildford, Winspeed the Jaguar specialist, Bell a...

Cars and coffee

Hey guys next Saturday why not cruise down to the wilds of Sussex and join us for cars and coffee at the Churn coffee shop which is located in Lynwick Street, Rudgwick just off the A281 near to Horsham for great coffee and their superb cheese charmers - yum. It's Saturday 27th from about 10 and we'l...

Bit sad

Golly gosh, I've just noticed that on the inside of the cap of my 2L filtered semi skimmed milk container there is printed 'B356'
I really think I should get out more.

Re: Project 25

I deliberated long and hard over whether I should take the 356 over to Classic Le Mans or smooth down there in the 911. In the end I thought that as the car had travelled to RPM Tecnik earlier in the year and then to Boxengasse or whatever it was called after that plus the Classics on the Green affa...

Re: Cancelled Flat 4 Drive 25 Sep 10am

What we could do is all join Neil on his driving holiday. Where are you off to Neil? Some nice roads? I'm sure Mrs. Neil won't mind half a doz 356'ers in tow!

Re: Flat 4 Drive 25 Sep 10am

Is this drive day advertised as 25th Sept going to be re-scheduled due to the CAC event on the same day? I'm actually doing a hill climb on the 25th down in deepest Sussex so I couldn't make either events, plus, as I'm a flat 6 merchant and not flat 4 would I still be allowed to join in the fun

Re: 3.2

I'm fairly certain a 3.2 with a little induction assistance will be just right for my needs and if I can find one for about the same money as my 2.4 will fetch I shall be very pleased. Regarding the Cobra, I have to say when I was building the 289 currently in the car I had the rose tinted specs fir...

Re: 3.2

Hi Graham, speaking with my local Porsche garage - Cridfords in Ewhurst, their very knowledgeable engine man said going for a 3.2 would be a far better bet than trying to hot rod up my 2.4, and a heck of a lot cheaper too. Whatever engine I may get would be torn down and he recommended just slightly...

'73 2.4 engine

Currently residing in my car is a 2.4 engine which I hope to replace with a, as yet to be located, 3.2 engine. The engine has just come back from a 1200 mile stint down to Classic LeMans and back where it performed without any problems at all. It has just been on CCK's rolling road in Sussex where i...
