Found this, and whilst these are adjustable spring plates, you can see Superpro bushes are flush with the end of the tube on the inside.

Re: Spring Plate Bushing HELP, PLEASE :-(
I remember that getting mine done up after renewing bushes was worryingly tight.
Oiled the threads and also had silicon on the bushes themselves (an added precaution against any future squeaking).
I used super pro bushes, which didn't stand quite as proud as yours, pretty much flush with the tube.

Silver 911 with gold lettering - Putney
Having coffee at Artisan on Upper Richmond Road when it trundled by sounding lovely.
Silver, black plates and with gold lettering on the rear lid - could have been an S.
Beautiful, shame about the weather!

Re: Removing Rear spring plate bush - Do you need special to
I cut mine off with a hacksaw, angle by angle - if that makes sense, and then burnt off the remainder, finishing with a wire brush. Sparkly clean.
I then had them plated which seemed worth while as a long term rust inhibitor.

Cleaning hardware prior to plating
I spent a day or so cleaning up some spring plates with wire wheel and wool only to be told that the first part of the playing process is some horribly nasty dip which removes the rust prior to plating anyway.... I'd therefore probably run them over with a wheel and take them to the platers and see ...

Real world MPG on the 3.0TDI Touareg is not funny at all. Low 20's. And it's a 100 litre tank to fill up. They are lovely cars to own though, very comfortable indeed and a fair sized boot. Running costs can get up there and i had to do disks and pads at about 40k miles which was about £1k - it's a h...

There is no way I would want to be doing 21kph let alone 210kph in that.
Looks like it would shake itself to bits!

I have a LHD 1974 targa, 'matching numbers' and originally Lime green, now guards red.... Was bought as a parts car in the states so hasn't been MOTd or anything and is parked up. Cant break it up though, it needs saving I have decided. Possibly a longer term project for me. Runs, drives fine (drove...

Re: Harness points
My car has factory mounts in the rear shelf, with what looks like thicker plates behind extending out some 5 inches to spread any load.
It is advisable then not to use these?
I will admit that I was thinking that this was simply a case of screwing in the big eye bolts and away we went...
