I am seriously surprised that this auction house would advertise this under that title. Or with that line as "prototype test bed" Sounds like complete BS. Although i've seen Coy's advertise other inaccurate claims by car owners prior....then noticed the cars were pulled from the auction (A...

Since Maxted-Page seems to not want to list any details on this RS 3.0 / 9036 (still only : "coming soon" noted on their site...since march or prior). Does anyone know if the owner was able to nail down it's history ? (at this point below ....a gent in 2007) : "I am now commencing res...

If this car was more than 2 litres in 1972 . I would have to guess that this is the Strahle car ?? Driven by Steckkönig - Pucci at 1972 Targa Florio to 6th overall (1st GT +2.0). No. 25 (the Strahle 911 entry) is noted to have had a "puncture/accident" & completed 9 laps. If it the afo...

If the white RS 3.0 Body , is the car listed on Maxted-Page (460 9036). Since they are a bit light on info. (none). Here's a post by an owner in 2007 , on Armado Serrano's Pbase website ('THE PORSCHE 911 RSR RESOURCE PAGE') : "I recently bought this restoration project from M Sport, owned by An...

From the Coys website, it says current owner aquired it 2 years ago. And Mr. Surtees owned it for 20 years. So subtract 22 years from 2010-2011. So , Mr. Surtees aquired it in 1988-89. His ownership is a neat addition to this cars history, but it's not like he was rolling around in it in 'the day' (...

Re: 1974 911 RS 3.0

gmundcars: "he bought the car in 1976 from the McCartney brothers rallying team in Ireland" .

Hello,

That year is not correct , Dessie McCartney used that car into at least the spring of 1977. And he did not even get it until the later part of 1976 himself.

pmjt ,

Would you mind disclosing which 1973 911/83 case was in your replica ? There might possibly be someone in the world looking for it (now , or even in the future).

Hello Gwhite, Yes , I missed the (1975 -) notation in the 1974-77 catalog. And I was not thinking straight prior, not realising that when the PET catalogs were written , the original retainer part number for the 1974 H4 assembly, would be replaced with the 2 ring system retainer whether required or ...

Just to clarify in case some do not understand . When ROW color matched to car , headlamp rings are applicable . It's not really an either/or thing. It is both. The color matched ring fits over the chrome. So this seemingly strange description , could be accurate (if actually available in 1974. Or e...

The cars used in the photograph sessions for this publication were ROW (non-US) models. In the one cover photograph (C...

1974 911 - metal to plastic grill change

Early 1974 911 model had the previous 2 years type metal grills installed from factory. Anyone know when the change was ? Possibly it is listed in a mid 70's vintage parts book by ser. # ? As on alot of changes - it is listed by serial number when a part change was made (I do not think it is listed ...

1972 address for Porsche Dealership in Fellbach (DE) ?

Looking for the 1972 physical address of the "Hahn Sportwagen" , or sometimes listed in some records (Porsche ?) as "Fa. Hahn" , Porsche Dealership located in the town of Fellbach (near Stuttgart). Now the Hahn family (Business Group) has a VW &/OR Audi Dealership there in Fe...
