Barry, great advice again! Many thanks! :) My first project will be supporting body properly (although it's coupe) and replace sills, I will leave right hand side outer sill out before I''m sure how I'm going to fit oil pipes to front cooler through sills. But it would be handy to have floor panels ...

Floor pan sheetmetal replacement

I'm just about to place order (from Mittelmotor) for various sheet metal parts, just quick question for somebody who has done floor pan replacement before: as floor panels are sold in 2 pieces, is there any difference if you replace it using panels that have left and right hand side vs ones that hav...

Thanks for ideas! :) I will use 72' oil tank (for 911R look, all show no go  ) I will do sills this summer but I will leave right hand side outer sill out so that I have bit more time to see what is the best solution for pipes. I'm just little worried about cracks if they happen inside sills, t...

Re: Oil pipes

Why not use 22 mm copper it can handle the pressure and heat easily . Its cheap, its easy to bend and the end fittings can be made in any thread form. Just a thought. I'm using braided all the way through but mine run through the cabin ! andy I have understood you can get stress crack if using copp...

Many thanks Alan! One option is as well that I bend copper pipes and take those to place to get brass pipes done. (or to do myself if not too difficult, I really like do all DIY) There is one major problem that is slowing down my project, I live in UK and my project is in Finland as I'm from there :...

Great Alan, thx!
So I need to check part number for OEM pipes (69-71) and find how much are they (if still available)
Luckily my project is very slow (at least for next 1-2 years) so I have loads of time to find information.

Many thanks Alan! That's exactly how I though to fit them (like OEM). I'm only using '72 tank and oil console, the rest has to be fabricated. (so pretty common SWB 911R project). (starting point is 1967 911) Have you fabricated/bent yourself brass pipes? Propably easiest solution would be flexible p...

Thanks!
I have run through loads of threads in Pelican but missed this one.
I'm aware that external pipes would give better cooling but plan is to use efficient cooler(s) so I don't think that is problem.

Through rocker oil pipes for SWB (to front oil cooler)

I have tried to search information about adding front mounted oil cooler and running oil pipes through rockers for SWB (911R style). I found some good information but I still have to ask couple of questions (taking risk of reposting  ) I want to run lines through rockers and using '72 oil tank/...
