Re: OT: race/driving sim rigs - anyone
Not sure.. we started production this week, they supply a lot of racking and tooling and things so I’d expect them to open in the next week or so. Prob best to just give them a call although their website is very good for pricing / ordering once they’re re opened I have seen vr built into a helmet o...

As mentioned, its part of some pack - I just brought the GOTY or whatever version that comes with everything, its worth the extra 10-15 quid or whatever it was In terms of sickness - YOU WILL GET SICK! I don't care who you are or what you've done before (my mate is a 20yr+ experience fast jet test p...

Re: OT: race/driving sim rigs - anyone
A couple of vids for you - these are with the settings I listed above, 10 car grids, probably bad lighting/weather for frame rate, but achieving average 80+FPS which is fine Porsche 911 RSR at Silverstone Classic GP In my defence of the above, I'd done about 3 laps of that circuit before that race, ...

I want to thank the two or three people here who steered me away from SCOM last year when I was looking to purchase an MV F4 from them - looks like the rumors were all true..

Re: Chris Flavell ...
Heard the news last night, popped back to add to the condolences. I got to know Chris through DDK, he helped me out with a few small things either I couldn't do myself, or others were unwilling to look at. He had a huge knowledge and passion for engineering; something we shared. His departure leaves...

Re: Ram pipes
You can calculate and get close, but I think filter elements may be a limiting factor.. you basically calculate the length from the back of the inlet valve to the end of the ram pipe for a given rpm, diameter, cam duration , etc.. ..ideally you want a match of cam and velocity stacks to achieve what...

Re: Independent Porsche Specialists Good/ Bad
It seems to me that specialists nearly always rubbish each other’s work Indeed, nearly all of them seem to start from the position that they are a misunderstood genius and everyone else is an idiot. They can't all be right. Most of the time it's quite amusing, but not so funny when you're trying to...

Re: Ram pipes
That's an awesome article! I've posted this before, but its an extreme example of what a difference the design / length can make -

Re: Ram pipes
The Ramair velocity stacks look good but there are just two small issues that need to considered The diameter of the intake at the top of a Weber IDA/Zenith 40TIN is 46mm and I think that the Ramair stack is 45mm. If they're of interest let me know - the ones in my picture are 40mm diameter as they...

Re: A memorable weekend to Zell am See (AU): Ice Race
I didn't go, but I think I saw a bunch of pics from the event - David Pittard (who's given me some tuition in the past) was racing a porsche at an ice race, possibly for tutthills? He posted a bunch of photos on instagram over the course of the weekend.. Looked amazing!!

Re: Ram pipes
Ramair make some nice aluminium velocity stacks, available in a variety of lengths and fitments - about £10 a piece I think (it was a while ago I ordered the ones in the picture below) from ebay A couple of rough rules - - Have the diameter of the inlet (so 40mm on an IDF40) as clear space all aroun...
