There is, but if there is a lot (compared to others) then that means there is a LOT of valve clearance, not too tight, just too loose, so would mean the valve will shut just not open much and produce a loud ticking as the parts impact.
All clearances need checking and again to tick them off the list.

Re: A Dream Fulfilled - MY 904FF
There are 3 in my class, the Norma with 500 bhp+ and the Aussie VW special with 500+. And me. Might catch the VW, but doubt it, so it is 3rd for me I think, pointless'racing' for other positions, but will have a go! Shelsley Walsh is narrow at the top... https://i.postimg.cc/W17TggXk/simon-shels.jpg

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Spent nearly 2 hours getting the broken window regulator out of the Boxster this afternoon as it wasn't raining. Part on it's way from Design911, so clearing the debris out now will make installation easier... Always reminds me that modern cars are so complicated and detailed, clips and more clips (...

Hope you fit something unusual!
Wonder how much hot air the number plate lip seal stops from being pulled in off the hot silencer?
My 73T has never had that seal since I bought it in '88 but it can get hot in mid summer/traffic queue etc.

Re: Scissors lift real?
A great price, but... 3" is quite high off the floor, but they all are if they are to be strong, or rather rigid enough. However, 26" rise is not much! You won't get a 911 engine out from the car at that height without taking some of the induction parts off and having height for some kind ...

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Been busy on the hillclimber's driveway today. Non Porsche was the ventilation blower motor seizing (nearly) on my leggy Skoda Superb, but got stuck-in and fixed it with some engine oil in the exposed fan shaft bearing. Temporary fix I think, but i need the car! Secondly, after a nice walk in the wo...

And THAT is why it is important to do the survey which will take about 5 mins, that's all. It is full of this type of stuff, and I am sure the thinking at DVLA is not in our favor. These changes have to be challenged, I thought the DVLA and other depts around were Civil Servants not Civil Masters? I...
