Re: "Lotus Elite - Racing Car for the Road" ...

Hi Andy An interesting bit of happenstance, in the March issue of Classic & Sports Car is a review of a new book on the Elite (Lotus Elite, by Matthew Vale/Veloce), the cover ‘shot’ is a primrose yellow car with a silver roof… I hope the car is a good as it looks and you’re having lots of fun wi...

Re: "Lotus Elite - Racing Car for the Road" ...

Hi Andy
What an utterly lovely car and with what appears to be a perfect spec, I even love the colour!
I wish you good health and good weather to enjoy it...

Re: Just collected my latest purchase ...

. My main inspiration for starting this thread was to try to generate some additional 'traffic' to the forum (at what is always a quiet time of the year) with hopefully the knock-on effect that some will start posting on their own cars/projects/restorations. So, to solve the mystery ... After comin...

Re: M&W 550 Overhaul...

To answer Ian M question raising the engine would cause the fan housing to hit the underside of the clam shell. Everything is very tight under there. There is also the possibility of the generator pulley hitting the rear upper chassis cross tube. I have given all these options some consideration. W...

Still way to few, but it’s cold up here and I’m still a soft southerner at heart!
If it’s still sunny tomorrow, I’ll take a run up to Windermere and back!

Re: M&W 550 Overhaul...

The gap between drive shafts and chassis is actually bigger than it looks in the photo (but it is rather tight), so far even on Cumbria’s less than ‘billiard table’ smooth roads I’ve had no issues. Have you ever thought about raising the engine a little higher? Hi Ian Sorry for the delay in replyin...

Hi Ian
Yep, it’s a hoot to drive, sadly work and the weather have limited its use.
