How much to import from NY? Their shipping estimation to the UK is ~$900, see: http://www.meritcars.com/shipping I haven't yet worked out the import costs for Germany, but I understand it's something like: (car price + shipping cost) +10% customs + 19% VAT - not sure which way round the customs and...

I'm no expert, but I saw this if anyone is interested. I may be wrong - but I think it's a US spec with the fog light added after market. The VIN suggests it's a Euro spec - WPO ZZZ 91 ZDS 102 886. She sent me a copy of the section of the Swiss registration document - I would attach it, but I don't know how to paste an image without a URL. is that the ...

Maybe I didn't call it by it's correct name, should I have said brown? :( It wouldn't be my first choice :|

I've just noticed a fog light under the bumper - is that a Euro spec?

On the other hand, you might end up with 3 years worth of evening/weekend work, disassembling, cleaning, restoring and buying buying buying parts and end up in the end with a splendid 911 that is totalling you 20000 euros on top of the purchase; you hating the thing and your wife ready to divorce y...

Remember that Switzerland is NOT within the EU and you may have to pay both VAT and car tax when / if you import it - still it's a cheap motor :) P ps: should have added - IF the car was previously registered elsewhere in Europe, you can sometimes get around this - but dealing with HMRC on this sub...

911SC Coupe on a budget?

I've found a Swiss registered Euro spec. LHD 1984 911SC Coupe (Met. Bronze colour) for sale at a bargain price of £3100 (converting into UK pounds). The VIN says it is a 1983 model. The engine is not working because the car was stored for a while (not sure how long) in a barn. However, not long befo...

Looking to buy a 356 - am I dreaming?

I've seen a 356 for sale that needs some restoration (see pics). It's up for €3950, which I think is a little cheap. I'll admit it, I'm a 356 virgin and don't know much about restoring them or what they're worth in this kind of state. I've seen fully restored 356 cabrios for €65k upwards which scare...
