Re: Sudden loss of power, not firing on one or more cylinder
Ta, I'll have to see if they think that's what it is and will contact Tim if it is.

Re: Sudden loss of power, not firing on one or more cylinder
Everything looked fine in the engine bay, wasn't much I could really do at the side of the road though and I didn't want to run it any more until Jonny had had a look at it just in case it was going to do more damage. Given the lack of drama and sudden change from fine to not fine, I'm thinking that...

Re: Sudden loss of power, not firing on one or more cylinder
Unlikely as mine's a T Mind you, if they have fitted injectors with carbs, that would explain the problem!
Sorry, I'm trying to look on the bright side at this point.

Sudden loss of power, not firing on one or more cylinders
So, with the Sun making an appearance today, I figured I would take the 911 in to work. Everything running fine, engine feeling strong, no problems. Then suddenly, without any particular drama, the car loses power and seems to be missing one, or possibly more, cylinders. I dive off the road as quick...

Re: Throttle pedal stuck down!
So, it looks like the bushes are okay as they've been changed to bronze ones. It's the 'reverse lever' ie. that shiny thing that's actually been bent - possibly due to being weakened in the past maybe, or because of the higher resistance in the PMO springs being too much for it. I know that when I g...

Re: Throttle pedal stuck down!
I guess this is the kind of kit that I need to replace the bushes in the pedal box?

Are these okay to use or are there better alternatives that people usually use?
Cheers, Ross.

Re: Throttle pedal stuck down!
Actually, James - just re-read your post, I guess you're probably right, the pedal's irrelevant, there is some movement in the lever so I guess the bush does need replacing.
I just pray that the engine is all okay after being buzzed like that.
Cheers, Ross.

Re: Throttle pedal stuck down!
Hi James, thanks for that link - clearly not an unknown problem. The throttle pedal itself seems solid enough and the pivot also seems okay (although clearly there is some side to side movement possible to have allowed this to happen). Everything seems to move as it should. I think the issue is that...

Throttle pedal stuck down!
Had a scary moment last night when I went to start the car up. The throttle pedal had stuck down a fair way, and I didn't pick up on it and so when the engine fired, it went flat out for a second or two while I flapped at the ignition key to kill it. Took me a little while to work out what had happe...

Re: Pacing around awaiting rolling road results
£76/hp - with reborn cylinders? Is that JUST engine rebuild cost?? No there was a few other things that needed doing at the same time and that was based on the final bill. Also, there was quite a lot of initial work done to the engine that needed undoing once we discovered that it was in a bit of a...

Re: Pacing around awaiting rolling road results
Will definitely take a good look tonight / this weekend. I've already had the experience of it dumping 25 litres of fuel into the garage while I was at work when the original tank finally perished. That was fun....especially as at the time, I had a joiner working in the loft upstairs. Anyhow, my new...

Re: Pacing around awaiting rolling road results
I'll take a better look tonight although I couldn't see any obvious leaks at all this morning and Unit11 have had it sat in their workshop for quite a while with petrol in so hopefully would have spotted any problems. The entire fuel system - tank, pump, regulator/filter, carbs - has been renewed th...

Re: Pacing around awaiting rolling road results
So finally got my car back last night and the sun even shone for a while so I got to take it out for a run. Runs really well now, very strong, revs cleanly and sounds fantastic with those PMOs wide open. Better seats, suspension and brakes all added to my list of things to do... Garage and house now...
