Re: MFI setup, rebuild and Calibration
Had an enjoyable visit to Neil Bainbridge Engineering on Saturday am... Neil is rather well versed in building, calibrating and doing pretty much anything imaginable with MFI pumps. A vast array of Bosch branded rigs set up in the workshop attest to the ability to set theses pumps up correctly. I wa...

Aye, jus a few miles away...
Ex RAF base... with Bicester being pretty much as it was in WW2 and immediately after, whereas Neil's ex-base has a few more modern improvements...and lots of big rocket testing structures.

Great pics..... It was fantastic... damn cold. Great to see such a variety of cars in the 'wild' as it were.. some dirty for the drive in... others just parked up almost randomly.

Re: Help Wanted Porsche 1970 Service MFI Fuel Pump
I believe BS Motorports also have the correct equipment for Bosch MFI pump testing. Neil Bainbridge is the contact. Still seems like there is plenty of choice, for now..... Regards Mike Second that view. Neil does have all the original Bosch machinery to service, recalibrate etc these pumps. HIs wo...

Re: Use of fuel additives in Europe
Might be worth having some injector cleaner handy.. Just back from a bit of a continental jaunt... in a Bob Watson built 2.7E... normally use BP 95 here in the UK. In France the main brands (Total, Shell, BP) 95 fuel had 10% ethanol and after a week or so the engine was not as happy as leaving the U...

Indeed a great stage....lots of action Porte has a fractured pelvis and collar bone from the BMC statements not great. Off the bike for 4-6 weeks. G has a broken collar bone. What a year he has had tho... so much form, yet no overall results. These unwritten rules are an issue... a couple of things ...

Agreed that the roads in Scotland are brilliant, so much fun to be had.

Re: MG BGT good or bad idea
Nice idea.... and well worth renting one to see if it is acceptable. It all depends on the commute; having experience of a 66 MGB GT for the daily commute thro' London for a few years then some of the basics were a real challenge... like fast easy heat and clear windows. It was however fun and certa...

Re: Intermeccanica Speedster
There's a thread on Pelican Parts Off Topic forum discussing the 'best replicas'... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/off-topic-discussions/954395-simple-question-who-makes-best-speedster-replica.html it might be worth a read and there are a couple of posters who have experience of Intermeccanicas. Loo...

Re: Is it madness...
Interesting.... and at the risk of being an 'old fart' I'd go for something that cannot be compared (easily or sensibly) to an early 911.... Something like a 65 Lincoln Conti convertible....or the sedan. So very different yet so suitable for its purpose. To my mind there would be no 'disappointment'...

Re: Your choice of mobile phone mount...?
I have a LHD 72 car with a speaker grille in the centre of the dash top.. the mount sits on the non perforated part of the dash. Its there as I find it places the nav screen (I use Waze) in the most logical place for me to see it.... rather than looking down away from the road if it placed where you...

Re: Your choice of mobile phone mount...?
Use one of the Socshe Magnetic magic mounts... strong suction cap to top of dashing front of the speaker grille on mine.... stick rare earth magnetic plate to back of phone and away you go.. http://www.scosche.com/magicmount-pro-dash-window-phone-mount Phone ( 6+) doesn't fall off even whilst tourin...

Re: Tyre advice
JP,
Changed from older P6000s (2008 spec) to the Dunlop Blu Sport last year on 6s all round.
For my use of the car they are good, rounder shoulders give a more period look.. with a good ride and more than enough grip for me.
