Re: LED taillights
Nice one - agreed, it's so easy to change and the outlay isn't expensive really, what's to lose.... thx for the advice.

Re: LED taillights
So the photo looks good Keith, & I like to be seen too - are you happy with / feel safer with these lights? Looks like an easy upgrade, but there's been so much mixed feedback on LEDs, just not sure whether this will be the answer.... your views much appreciated.

We’re all doooooomed....
And no way that popularity confers cool. However, if it funds cool stuff, I’m good with that. For me though, it’s important to separate best selling from interesting. Can be the same thing, but not often.

Re: E Type 888330
JP - that looks amazing.... going to be so cool when it's done, but this stage is fascinating to watch and see emerge too. Great team you've assembled around you for this, with Barry on the shell and these guys on paint, it's going to be world class is this....

Re: 1970 Bay (Outlaw-ish)
As Bootsy says, it now has that proper 70’s look. Get a photo in the right location with some filters on it and you’d swear it’s was a period modded bus ... you just need some ‘grateful dead’ stickers in the windows now :) American Beauty. Now that's an album to chill in camp to..... I love that Ch...

Re: 1970 Bay (Outlaw-ish)
So - that was pretty much it. The ride height under the sump went from 130 mm to 205 mm so it's got clearance. And with its wheels and the bigger tyres, gave it quite a different look. https://i.postimg.cc/rFMcr8qk/84-E8-F647-2588-46-AE-A9-FE-727926-B34-ECB.jpg And the stance? Again, quite different...

Re: 1970 Bay (Outlaw-ish)
And after much work at Johnson's (in super-quick time) we got it all sorted and ready to go back to Chris for proper set-up... Re: 1970 Bay (Outlaw-ish)
Yeah - this has been one massive journey of discovery Keith - sharing here hopefully to save someone else from making the stupid mistakes I did.... So then to the suspension proper. Between Chris & I we came up with a plan.... Ride heights on a standard bus are c. 200mm at the lowest point. Unde...

Re: 1970 Bay (Outlaw-ish)
One of the other things wrong was my choice of tyres. 175 55 profile car tyres and with a weight limit of 475kg on each wheel.... on the LHS rear I had 588 kg. Massive oops. Of all the 'thank fk for that' moments of this, it was that I didn't get a massive blow-out because I'd put the wrong stuff on...

Re: 1970 Bay (Outlaw-ish)
Right - as I tell you this, you have to remember that I had specced everything so far on the bus - lowered, narrowed front beam, lower-profile tyres, deeper sump, and all the living stuff and especially the leisure batteries on the left-hand side. The other thing to remember is that this build was r...

Re: 1970 Bay (Outlaw-ish)
Cool bus BB - I also think it would be a great idea for a weekend of beers and campfires - I'd be up for that... You're not kidding Keith. No more adjustable spring plates for me....next installment is what we did next. Prepare yourselves for a 'Dad Overlander' bus stance - and much beefed up suspen...
