Re: Dropped spindles - any options?
Have you thought about trying these? Popular with the VW guys apparently... https://www.limebug.com/media/storage/product/3276/680x430_022ee9d5afbadd4a29935549624f5bb43ab2b133.jpg https://www.limebug.com/product/view/3276/t1-1947-65-beetle-front-link-pin-air-shocks-pair#temp Yes - I have tried to f...

Re: Dropped spindles - any options?
Man that's cool! Just loose the 911 wheels and fit a set of Radars and it's perfection!!! I actually had 17” Radars but decided to run 901s instead. Recently I have been thinking of getting a set of SA sprints - but let’s see. Worked with rear end height recently since I was not happy with the stan...

Re: popping and spitting Solex carbs
Have you checked the carb mounting flanges for straightness? Those might be warped due the overthightening and cause a leak which might be hard to spot

Re: JP Classic Line - Solex style 40 PII-4
I ordered a set and it arrived today. Looks really good and quality-wise nothing really pops out. I like the finish even though some people seem not to like as it is not exactly original. These are not JP's to be exact - bought a set from eBay. I presume these are from same source anyway. These will...

Re: JP Classic Line - Solex style 40 PII-4
So are these Ningbo ones same as JP ones? Or are those parallel re-pop streams? I’ve been made an offer on price only to find another company selling them for £455 a pair. I think the manufacturer is in Ningbo with an agent in HK and the more expensive ones I’ve been offered are maybe sold through a...

Re: JP Classic Line - Solex style 40 PII-4
Good tip - I’ll check them. I have a spare set which is I have planned to get restored. Slightly related: Any recommendation for restoration in Europe for OG set? Mike from PRS mentioned that they might get themselves set up for restoration work on carbs once the world returned to normal, might be w...

This is interesting. Any info of the price? Has anyone seen a pair of these or have any thoughts? https://www.jpgroupclassic.com/Images_products/1615100180.jpg?width=340&height=340&mode=pad&bgcolor=FFF&_=637523485444669175 https://www.jpgroupclassic.com/product/?id=1615100180&cbr...

Thanks Sam - I like to look too. Seems to cause some weird noises and mumbling in concours judges though.Sam wrote:You can’t raise that. It’s piffffting. Air ride it or drive the long way round to avoid the bumps.

Dropped spindles - any options?
Nice looking car. Is that graphite metallic or something darker? It’s actually Porsche schiefergrau to be exact. But hue is very very close (or even same?) to Graphite Metallic which was available color in ’54. Car is one of the oddball models being MY ’53 but came out of factory ’54 so it’s close ...

Re: Dropped spindles - any options?
I just got the original spindles out of storage box and have them treated with new klng and link pins just in case. In the meanwhile I’ll try coilovers if I find short enough from somewhere. That tiresize calculator has become very familiar to me :) Br, Aki nice car....If the coilovers are an easy f...

Re: Dropped spindles - any options?
Yes - the options are somewhat limited. I have basically narrowed them down to two realistic scenarios: 1. Keep the drop spindles and add coilover shocks to lift it 2-3cm. Alternative to coilovers are air shocks 2. Stock spindles along with lower profile tires Some pics below. Car now has drop spind...

Dropped spindles - any options?
I’m running dropped spindles on ’53. I like the look But the front end, especially the spare wheel well, is slightly too close to ground at the moment. I still would like to keep it low. Are there any alternatives 2,5” drop spindles? About half of that would be perfect. Other ideas are welcome as we...

Re: Time takes a toll
Sorry Fella, but that cars only fit for the breakers yard now! RoscoP. Sounds likely. I’ll just park the heap in some lot in the more vivid parts of the city. Should be faster trip in time than Marty ever did with DeLorean. I would have then again matching vispr for the car. https://uploads.tapatal...
