Sounds intriguing! YHM.
TBH the brakes aren't that bad, but are probably the one part of the car which doesn't quite inspire as much confidence, and compares less favourably with modern sports cars

Having just got back from my 3 hour jolly to Goodwood I have to say I couldn't agree less  The car is an absolute joy to drive. Fantastic feedback on what is happening on the road, beautiful fluid steering and believe me it is still a fair bit quicker than a Golf both in a straight line and o...

I'm not sure that we'll see a 'glut' of RSs suddenly hit the market. Some long term owners may be getting towards retirement age and may feel like selling if they aren't using the cars much, but lets be honest if they are relying on the car for their pension the circa 200k some of the nicer M471s mi...

I'd agree - RSR for me to. Fantastic and important car and feels like a logical progression up the food chain from my 'lowly' RS :? Love to pilot that at historic Le Mans and take it back to the Targa Florio 8) The R is an incredible piece of kit and a significant car, though that particular one has...

OK - thanks for the link. I am aware of the questions regarding provenance versus the other RSRs and especially the car at the Porsche museum but thought it was pretty much agreed now that this is the '73 Targa Florio winning car :?:

Well done Mike - fantastic attention to detail.
As an aside I'm led to believe the Kitchak original (73 Targa winner) is for sale at the moment :?:

Wouldn't describe the one I followed as too much of a go-er ....was being driven quite sedately

Though I'm sure the potential was there :P

My RS (original white  ) came from the Mexborough collection. http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r258/paulyb_album/911RS/0014.jpg I followed a white 3.0RS towards Dorset recently - we made quite a convoy down the A30 until he turned off at Shaftesbury. Was wondering if it might have been Nick ...

Looking lovely Paul.
I went for a quick drive in mine this afternoon - lovely fresh day for a quick fizz towards Goodwood.
Now back and getting depressed in front of the rugby

Sport (lightweight) or touring? Main people to contact are Mark Waring, Maxted-Page, Edmond Harris, Autofarm. I looked briefly at the gulf blue car at Maxted-Page when I was up there on Monday - looks like a lovely example, though I haven't examined it properly! A touring that has been 'upgraded' to...
