Will - no problem with lending you the kit. Thanks for the compliment on the car! Does sound like the oil control ring on no. 4 is the most likely culprit, but might be worth getting a leakdown test before taking things apart? Could be bore wash if it has been running really rich for a long time, ot...

Will - I've got a kit you are welcome to borrow. Based in Chelsea so not too far away. I'm not in London right now but will be back Monday night. If that suits let me know and we can arrange to get it to you / pick up.

Salon Prive

Scored an invite to the Hurlingham Club yesterday for Salon Prive via a collector friend who had a couple of cars in the concours. Stunning cars in a beautiful setting. Reasonable Porsche presence - a brace of 2.7RS - one touring, one sport; a number of 356 including Jay Kay's lovely speedster in th...

I haven't driven as far as across Europe in mine, but have done several long-ish journeys in / around the UK. My car doesn't have the usual correct RS seats with the knurled knobs on the side, but a slightly different sport seat which I beleive to be factory fitted, and is pictured in one of the int...

Not for the Porsche, so apologies for the off topic, but I'm having a bit of an issue with the starter motor / starter circuit on another car (S1 E-type) Turning the ignition key all the electrics work - fuel pump, lights, wipers, fan...etc as normal, but hitting the starter button absolutely zero f...

5 weeks - the short time I had to wait for mine was time standing still - and that was over Christmas: Not sure my heart would survive 5 weeks of that!!!
The car looks fab. You must be very proud putting up the photos and reporting all those little details. Well done 8)
