Re: 1971 Burgundy 911T

. Made a bit more progress today. A few more jobs completed in the front luggage compartment ... first task was to do something about the tatty heater motor cover: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53778077350_d4bbcf00a7_c.jpg - so I looked around to see if I had anything suitable to make a replac...

Re: Porsche for sale of the day..........

. That edition of 'Supercar Classics' was the one with the Gulf Orange RS on the cover. The car belonged to Ann Johns (who lived just off Holland Park Ave) but it wasn't one of the first 500 (it was '0928'). The phone number in the Motorsport advert is from the Teddington/Hampton area - Mike (Birtwi...

Re: 1971 Burgundy 911T

.

So far by swapping the front seats & removing the rear seat backs, fitting lightweight door panels & deleting the n/s battery, etc I've saved over 40 kg.

I haven't compared the new wheels/tyres yet ...

Re: 1971 Burgundy 911T

. Everything I'm changing on the car (wherever possible) is undertaken so that it is fully reversible should any future owner wish to return the car to standard. In relation to the deletion of the driver's side 12v battery, this meant retaining the heavy duty cable that runs from the n/s battery box...

Re: Your Porsche pic of the day......

. That's a bummer ! Having done the speed awareness course last year (also for apparently doing 36mph in a 30mph limit in my Elite) - which cost £80 plus the fuel to get there & back (nearest venue offered was Worcester) - & been bored rigid for several hours, I think if there's a next time,...

Lemmerz chrome 4 1/2 in steel wheel ...

. Dated March '63. Correct for 356C models but will obviously fit early 912 & 911 models too. Currently fitted with 165 Michelin XZX tyre - holds air (see last picture where it's on the front of my '71 911T) - but is old & should be replaced. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53763840767_d...

Re: 1971 Burgundy 911T

. My intention was to delete one of the 12v batteries - on the driver's side - & incorporate a battery cut-off switch so the first part of the process involved removing any non-original wiring including the aftermarket Cobra alarm/immobiliser. Although the alarm was installed by an official 'pro...

Re: 1971 Burgundy 911T

. I'd previously quite fancied the idea of fitting a set of Group 4's alloy version of the original KpZ steel wheels so after the discovery that the Fuchs weren't 'deep sixes', I ordered a set : https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53756600072_c9bc381370_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/5375...
