Porsche Ecoating is black. New panels yes but obviously they e-coat the shells in light grey. You can only Ecoat a baremetal item as the paint needs an earth. Any idea why the rear wings and floorpan are still in black? Maybe they put masking tape over those areas to prevent them from getting primered to save weight? The new black primered panels are already galvanised and KTL'd so no need to put another coat, right?

e coating is q controversial these days. I think I am right in saying neither Alan @ Canford Classics, or Tuthills use it any more. I need an idea on costs of the following:-

Electrolytic dipping (the factory restoration uses this method, right?)
Hot dip galvanising
E-coating
Paint finishing

Not including bodywork repairs or disassembly and re-assembly of the car.
