Another very comprehensive answer with more permutations than I thought possible for headlining. Ivory then :)

Thanks

73 RS headining

Hi

A quick question - what colour should the headlining be in a 73 2.7 RS? I have seen some black and some white, was there a "std" colour or was it an option that could be specified?

Thanks

Hi While I can't really comment on the appropriateness of the price, I can say this is probably the best early 911 I have seen (in terms of condition). It's pretty unbelievable. I can see the attraction if you want to just sit and look at it or put it in a museum but I expect you would want to drive...

Sounds like they are ideal Mick. I would just be wanting little people in the back so should be fine as long as they don't trip on the way in.

Thanks for all the feedback, much appreciated.

Thanks for the info Mick. I think they look superb.

How do you find the tilting mechanism? Probably another question to answer with a bit of use but would be interested to hear what you think.

Hi Mick

Seats look great. Do you find them comfortable? Would be interested to get more feedback on them. What prompted you to go for the cord inserts and how do you find the that (vs say full leather)?

Any views gratefully received.

Thanks both for you replies. To put my question in context, it is a complete existing engine that has faulty cases and will be rebuilt in to replacement 7R cases that come with it. Existing parts would be checked and used where possible and my aim would be reliable power and longevity rather than ma...

Early 911 Engine build

Hi If I were to have an early 911 engine built / rebuilt, is there a sensible list of do's and don'ts that I should be thinking about? It would be a 2.7 RS Spec engine on 7R cases and MFI. The sort of thing I am thinking of is shuffle pinning - sounds very sensible for early engines but depending on...

Hi Mike I did find something I really liked but the owner had a change of mind and has decided to hang on to the car for a little while. Saw a car last weekend that was very nice and hopefully seeing another this weekend. As is often the case, the cars are scattered all over the country so its a cas...

Thanks for the feedback all.

Sounds like RH are a good option but I'll give the others a call too.

Do you have to supply a spec / build sheet for replicas or heavily modified cars or is it based on general description of the modifications?

Many thanks

Modified 911 Insurance

Hi Can anyone suggest a good contact / company for insuring a modified early 911? I am looking to buy a 2.7 RS Replica so it will be base car with many modifications, possibly a roll cage etc. Its a second car, garaged, limited mileage (3-5k) and the occassional track day so ideally a specialist ins...
