Re: O/T Daily driver boxster

Hi I ran a 986 S for 15 months as a daily driver and had a 987 (2.7) briefly and found them great all rounders and perfect for daily use - comfortable, fun, reliable and reasonable running costs. I think the key (as ever) is to buy a good one that has been looked after and ideally freshly serviced w...

Re: My new project.........

I always think a freshly pained early 911 shell looks wonderful as it is ...... but that is exceptional. What an amazing result. Can't wait to see more pictures!

Re: Looks familiar, 2.7RS Rep

Ah ..... just seen your profile, I take it you have just bought it (rather than sold it)!

Did you see the RS rep while you were there?

Re: Looks familiar, 2.7RS Rep

That looks very nice. Seems to have some nice parts and some that are not quite right for a 2.7RS (steering wheel, mirrors, seats etc) but must go very well with 230bhp.

The yellow 2.4S they have also looks lovely.

Are these both "ddk" cars?

Re: Off topic watch chat for the horologists out there

Re the watch you saw at revival, I think they go for about £1000 on ebay.

May not be the most popular of Speedmasters but I think its a nice looking watch, especially on a leather / rubber strap. Just not collectible.

Re: Silverstone trackday

Excellent pictures as ever Paul ... and with an iphone! There goes my "it's the camera excuse". Must be the nut behind the wheel (or something like that). It was a very "busy" day for the recovery vehicle yesterday, damp on circuit in some places only and so very windy. The Welli...

Re: Silverstone trackday

Nice pics. You have done well with the weather, I was there yesterday on a bike trackday and it was the windiest day I have ever ridden on. We were getting blown 5ft over coming out of copse and it was difficult getting the bike over in to club as the wind was keeping it up! Is uncle Vic there ... h...

Looks better without the stickers if you ask me!

Any details of the '68 S that he has p/x'd? Sounds interesting.

That is a very interesting question - good 2.7 RS replica vs a good std S. Presumably they could be set up similarly so the ride would be comparable and the cars equally useable but your (Steve's) experience suggests perhaps not. Would be very interested to hear any other observations and comparison...

That does look like a very nice car - made to sound even better by the BS description!! I was having a look through the Coys descriptions for the forthcoming auction and even I spotted lots of very obvious mistakes. Some were very "material" to the value of the car, surely they won't get a...

Looks very nice in the picture above, what is the finish on the wheels?

It now seems to be running on 6 + 7 inch polished rims which don't fill the arches and colour looks a bit wrong.
