FMAN : Looks like you did not read my post and I wasted my time by checking and measuring. You do NOT need to create dents to put the bolts in ! I will be going for short bolts , mods and dents so mine "fall" in ... the chances are I will be in a big hurry to change things if and when requ...

Have just been out to check my own (chassis no 304118 - ? 66/67 model) Bolts are 85.3mm long , and go in either way , with no dents in torsion bar tube. Clearly fitting them with no arm in place is very easy as is - since bolt does not have to go in at exactly 90 degrees (square to hole) - but by ca...

Like all these things , advice is only to change one thing at a time - and monitor (better still measure if it's possible - eg power) the difference. Change two things and you won't know what caused what !

Porsche very kindly fit them the "wrong" way round , so gearbox has to come out to remove the first time ! But as I now know (rally service mod to allow quick arm change ... ) they should be fitted the other way round , to make life easier next time. (yes they do fit lengthwise) , but it's...

Sand blasting is illegal and dangerous (Silica poisoning ?)... what's done these days is shot blasting - but there are various types of blast medium used , some causing less damage than others. Shot (steel - various grades (sizes)) , walnut shells , glass beads , etc etc. I suspect a combination is ...

Some sums will give you an idea of max time to recharge. What AH (Amp Hours) of battery is fitted ? Typically could be a figure of maybe 70. What current is charger pulling - starts high , maybe 5 amps if battery low .. assume average of 3.5 for above example. Divide your AH by current , and you hav...

Nick , did you by chance mean that SWB part is no longer available ? (suspect not important to me , as alloy home made tank will go in anyway) cheers

SWB Rear wings and front repair sections

Two quick questions - 1.) Can one still buy new rear wings for the short wheelbase cars ? 2.) I need to replace the front suspension / fuel tank surround section (the larger repair panel ?) Is the SWB one the same as later cars ? - I notice a date cut off for new ones being advertised , yet I though...

Suspect I will have it done before you then .. on the assumption that I really am to go ralling again late this year. Had it all designed in my head at about 3 or 4am today. Time to get my long plastic pipe and bottle of water out !

Buy a simple electronic trip like terratrip. ... Cable tie it on somewhere (glove box lid) Sensor will pick up from front hub. Wiring can either be routed through an existing hole or failing that will probably survive a door shut on it. Power feed pick up from other internal source. Don't know why y...

Inside engine bay is relatively easy - about 90% of rally cars done that way. Central , following curve of "seat back panel". Gives a better head (increased pressure) for feed to engine (assuming this is a good thing). Neatest one I saw recently , included a fine diameter plastic pipe down...

2 Litre historic tarmac car - I am familar with prepfab , just don't want to pay their prices as "we" are capable of making our own. Damage is an issue (going to connect with something solid sooner or later). Capacity will probably be bigger than std as I want to run a std oil cooler (keep...
