Mine arrived early yesterday morning, unmarked, handed to me by the Postman.
Thank you very much.

Hello Graham,
Is it too late to add my name to the list - or have I missed the bus?

Re: Att: AFN car owners
Arfor, thanks that's great. On your list is there one closer to Manchester? I am curious as to why the original owner travelled so far for his car. Perhaps because that was the only dealer at the time who had a car of the colour/specification which the purchaser wanted? It seems that for a while, a...

Re: Att: AFN car owners
I have a document dated August, 1968 which lists the Official Porsche Dealers and Service Agents.
Included in the list of eight Official Porsche Dealers is Rob Walker Corsley Garage Limited, Frome Road, Nr. Warminster, Wiltshire.

Re: Specialist dealer sold my car but won't give me proceeds
I remember reading, many years ago, (but not in this country) court reports of people being charged with the offence of 'Converting money to his own use.' Guilt was easily proved, and conviction and sentencing quickly followed. This seems to be the same situation - the dealer has accepted funds from...

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
With a Production Completion Date of 2nd October,1968 - today marks my car's 50th birthday!
To celebrate I had planned to drive down to the Ponderosa/Horseshoe Pass - a spot known to many DDKers - but the weather was rubbish, so the trip has been put on hold.

Just a short tootle down the road to check tyre pressures, in readiness for the trip across to Oulton Park for the Gold Cup Races on Sunday.
Any other DDKers going?

Re: Earls Court Show Cars October 1968
Of the three 911's on display at Earls Court during October, 1968, the 911 E is still proving elusive... Registration number VYE 7G. The car was originally a Sportomatic, so maybe that will narrow down the field somewhat. The car has a current MOT and is taxed. It would be great to get the three car...

Re: Earls Court Show Cars October 1968
Yes, you are probably correct, Ian.
We now need to hear from Rob911/356 as to whether the identification details of his 911 S correspond with the details which you have provided.
Has another car from the show which took place 50 years ago been located?

Re: Earls Court Show Cars October 1968
Hello Ian,
Yes, as has been said, good to see you here again.
Slightly puzzling registration number on the 911 S - OGJ 1E? The reg'n numbers of the other cars registered at that time (including my own) had a G suffix - unless it was the first owner's 'personal' number?

Re: Earls Court Show Cars October 1968
Hello Rob, Not entirely surprisingly, it seems that the descriptions of the cars in the Show Catalogue do not exactly correspond with the cars that were actually on display. I would suggest that the failure to include a sun roof in the description of the 911 S in the catalogue does not necessarily m...

Re: Earls Court Show Cars October 1968
Arfor you mention the guide you have details each car, does it mention the blue 'S' having a sunroof by any chance? Thanks No, it doesn't unfortunately. But I'll quote a few of the details: Forged light alloy wheels with 6J x 15 rims. Fixed-head Coupe coachbuilt by Porsche. Standard equipment inclu...

Re: Earls Court Show Cars October 1968
I have a copy of the Official Show Guide for the 1968 Earls Court Motor Show, and whilst each vehicle on display is comprehensively described, no engine/chassis numbers are quoted. Arfor, Even the model # and paint colour would be significant. I assume that all would be LHD. I know the 1964 car was...
