Re: Time to change, diesel or petrol?

Between electric and diesel (or petrol for that matter) I know what I'd prefer to be locked in a room for an hour with the engine running.

Scale room up to world and one car for one billion.

We have to change :)

Re: Time to change, diesel or petrol?

If it's for urban use I'd seriously consider electric. Diesels' days are numbered in cities and hopefully the rest of the country (planet) will follow suit and ban them soon too. Dirty horrible things they are  that, reminds me... I must get rid of my smoke belching diesel Ford C-Max

Re: porsche vid. of the day

Thanks Sisu. I don't use maths (was never very good at it), just experience. I would never condone the use of an extension cable to charge up an electric car - that's just DUMB!! Anyone who has an EV and charges off a 3pin plug (which is usually never) should use the proper 3 pin to Type2 charging c...

Re: porsche vid. of the day

Charging time depends on how full the battery is and what type of charger you're connecting to. Worse case scenario is that the battery is empty and you connect to a 3 pin domestic plug = 10 hours, but most EV owners have a charging wallpod at home which should take about 7 hours to charge from empt...

Re: porsche vid. of the day

Great to see and 'experience' the end result! We need more stats! Well, I'm 5'10", 11.5 stone, 30" waist,.... The headline figures are - 200+mile range, 0-60 in 7 seconds starting in 3rd gear, near 50/50 weight distribution so very 914'esque handling, brakes on a dime thanks to big ...

Re: Your Porsche pic of the day......

Thanks guys for the kind words. It's been a load of work to build it but I'm happy with the results, and as a man on the OCD scale to be happy with the end result is saying something  Keith - I wish that was my house. As long as I didn't have to pay for the upkeep costs  Clive - The 914 is...

Thanks, yep that's it. I've just posted a vid of it in the "Porsche Videos" thread. There's some great drone footage of it. Drones are just so cool for car vids 8) I want one :)

Re: Where to buy high torque starter from in UK?

Thanks Andy, but I only see 911, 928 and 356 ones for sale there. Do they really do 914 ones? if so how do you buy one?

Re: Where to buy high torque starter from in UK?

Do none of the 911 hi-torque ones work, or VW ones (e.g. from VW Heritage). Or does it need to be a specific 914 one? I used to know these things but I've forgotten :(

Where to buy high torque starter from in UK?

Last one I bought many moons ago was from Pelican Parts but I'd prefer to buy one in UK so I can get it quick.

Cheers
