Re: 1973 RSR evocation

Glad it has found 'another' good new home :-) Look forward to progress reports on the Hot Rod.

Tuthills rates - I thought them pretty good given the knowledge you get, or did I misunderstand that bit ?

Re: Ever found a cool feature on your car ?

Many years ago it took me two years to find out that you pulled the light switch to turn on the interior light. prior to that I had propped the door open a bit :)

Re: Alfa GT Junior

Lovely car and should I mine back this weekend, freshly restored metal and paint. Cars like this inspire me to finish mine to an equally good look.

Re: O/T Audi Xenon headlight aim adjustment

My A5 Quattro has Xenon Lights that auto adjust when cornering, but the MMI option to convert to Continental / UK is sonly accessible by the Audi Dealer - mad ! I know you can get to it if you buy the Laptop Software and interface cable that allows you to get to quite a few features. No help right n...

Re: 1974 Carrera Coupe - RHD, UK car

Stunning build as said before. How about assembling a time lapse sequence of photos from purchase to 'on the road' :-) First engine start is scheduled for ...... and a video please :-) The unveiling has something to live up to though from previous experience. It is where you explain this is in fact ...

My 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT

I have posted odd snippets within previous threads here, but thought I would post the latest 'in red' pictures here. Paint is fresh out of the gun and looks 'very bright' :-) The car has been through a year of metalwork and paint to get here, and if interested there is a full gallery here :- http://...

Re: 1974 Carrera Coupe - RHD, UK car

Let's leave behind all this talk of rubber grommets for now. Here's my wonderful sunroof going back together..... Just in time for the forecast snow :-) Still looking lovely. Is there anything on this car that has not been replaced or restored, and is as it collected it. Do you have a picture of th...

Super detailed pictures :-) This car will look showroom (or better) new when finished, and a great testament to UK engineering :-)

Re: Which SWB 911 cage and who to fit it ?

I know that Tuthills have been working on a new bolt in cage that doesn't have the 'ugly' large bolts showing as well. Definitely worth a trip down to see their many cars in the workshops (worth a visit anyway to get inspiration) but they are likely mega busy running a dozen or more cars out in Afri...

Re: Which SWB 911 cage and who to fit it ?

Andrew

Have you spoken to Tuthills as I know they prepare a lot of the SWB Cars for the HRCR Historic Series ? Also Andy Robinson at Robinson Race Cars has done early 911 cages, plus of course Custom Cages near Brackley / Banbury way.

Good luck and show us the pics :-)

Re: Wayne's Engine Picks: short stroke 2.8

Dumb question but what the heck. What are the driver differences between a SS 2.8 and a 2.8RSR which I assume is an overbored 2.7 (i.e. a long stroke ???). i guess it is like asking what is the difference between a big block 400ci Chevy and a 415ci small block Chevy. Does one rev fast and fragile wh...

Re: Name this car: I hope it is difficult!

My neighbour knows the builder / owner (Chris) very well - lives over Northampton way. I met him at Prescott on Saturday and he enthused over the 11 year build project - made my one year with the Alfa seem short :-) My neighbour was then offered a passenger ride up Prescott in it on the Sunday, so o...
