Side lights out on one side

Post by FraserMurray »

My lights are out on one side, thought it was a bulb at first and then realised all three are out (rear too) but the main beam still works. Has this happened to anyone else before I start pouring over the wiring diagram and poking around?

Parking light..

if you turn off the car and turn the turn signal on then you get the side lights sounds like it has some thing to do with that , that is making your lights not work when they are meant to be used normaly

Check the fuses in the front a bit of wd 40 helps roll them with your finger.

well all the fuses look fine, parking light works on passenger side but not on drivers. Main headlight beam works as does rear brake light and front and rear indicator, so it's just reverse, rear light, parking light and side light that don't work, can't spot any obvious loose wires - any more ideas? Bulbs don't look blown.

Same thing happend to me on my 356. It took me 5 hours to suss out that although the fuses were all OK the connectors were covered in the usual electrical crud.(undetectable to the human eye) lucky I have super human eyesight! Once cleaned - hey presto lights!!

Clean all contacts and you will have less resistance and brighter lights.

Good luck

And remember, bright shiny metal
