oil warning light

Having just got my 914 (4) on the road and through its MOT, I was driving to work this morning and the oil light flickered on when rounding a roundabout (slowly I may add!) and then again at a another corner.

There is enough oil in the car so I am a little concerned, the reason it ended up off the road 6 years ago was because the engine siezed after similar problem, this is an unknown replacement so no idea of whats in it.

Could it be the oil pump, if so is this as easy as a bug oil pump to replace?

Any help would be appreciated as this is my daily driver and I cant afford it to go again

Hello Al.

Ouch!

The pump pick up is the likely culprit.

It is sealed with an o ring.

Complete strip down needed I'm afraid.. a geood iea anyway to change the bearings before the crank is scored..

Sorry..

Kind regards
David

No, not really.

The pipe will be constantly sucking air mixed with oil instead of poil.

When cornering the oil level drops enough for ther to be no oil at all..

Sorry again.

Kind regards
