Do these units replace the old non retractable belts in the car, and do they fit into the female end between the seats?

Thanks

I have only used them to replace the existing inertial reel belts in a '72 model - I think others have used them in earlier cars.

The kit includes the female 'receiver'.

Alan,

Excuse me if I sound dumb, but does these belts replace both the female and the male ends, and they have built in retraction units?

I am still awaiting Eurocarparts to get back to me.

Thanks
Dom

This is what comes in a 500/15 Kit. I happened to have one beside me when I read this thread. Sad.

Nick,

It looks like I can unbolt my existing non-retractable unit and install this one and I am in business !!! Or did I miss something?

Thanks for the photo.

I think its a straight swap.. I've got a bag of bits that I took off the car but I didn't make a note of how it went together. There's all sorts of spacers, washers etc. Photo's of an existing setup would be useful (for me at least)

I have the kit and should be performing the op at the weekend on my ,72 car, replacing the existing harness. With the help of others on this site I have checked I have all the correct mountings and it all looks very straight forward. My car had static belts originally, but thye mountings are there for inertia belts. All I have to do once fitted is get someone to make up the cover panel that either Porsche or the importing dealer (AFN) fitted to cars with inertia belts.

I will post some pics after the weekend if this helps.
